I think money is rather tight for a lot of us right now, especially those of us who rely on a substantial amount of our incomes from self-employment as Dave and I do. Thankfully we have a lovely home and good savings behind us so we are a lot luckier than many. We like to be sure that things will stay this way until retirement nevertheless and so we have been on a real credit crunch saving mission since Christmas.

Being an Avon representative means I do get a small discount on my cosmetics and toiletries, but they do still cost me quite a lot! I am supposed to be earning money from Avon after all and not just simply earning myself a few expensive toiletries.

Previously I had been using a more expensive face cream than this one but decided that for the price, I should really see if this one was any good. I can always easily return things to Avon if I do not like them as it is not like I have to try to explain myself to a representative when I give them back to myself!

This is usually £4 for a 200ml pot (150ml bigger than most face cream pot sizes) which is excellent value for money at full price. It was even better value for money when Avon offered it as part of an "Any 3 for £5" special offer recently. Look out for half price sales too as they regularly include products like this.

I think it is important to note that I did notice a difference when I used this cream compared to my more expensive usual. I found that this took a little bit longer to be absorbed and that my skin lacked that irridescent radiant glow I have become accustomed to seeing from using my other cream.

I was very pleased with the moisturisation properties held by such an inexpensive cream though and even more pleased that there was no oily residue as can happen with some creams. Yes it did take a minute to rub it in properly but once absorbed, it held fast and worked well.

I have a very dry forehead sometimes and this looks awful under foundation if not dealt with beforehand. So the fact that this cream was strong enough to smooth all of that right down ready for foundation was a big bonus for me. I liked the relatively inoffensive and mild scent of this product too as that is something that bothers me about face creams. I simply cannot use a moisturiser that is strongly scented and fortunately this one is extremely mild and clean smelling.

With the extremely low price in mind, I have to give this product four stars. It is not the best face cream you could buy by any means but it is certainly the best you will find for £4.
