Advantages: a great cheap moisturiser
Disadvantages: packaging could be better designed
I have tried various moisturisers in the past and they have ranged from cheap through to expensive. I always come back to the cheap version from Avon because it suits my skin and a pot lasts me ages.
Avon's rich moisture face cream has been around in the catalogue for years. The packaging has changed dramatically over the years, but the basic pot has stayed almost the same.
The moisturiser comes in a round pot with a screw top lid. The pot is very easy to open, but I can never put the lid back on until I have washed my hands as it proves too difficult after applying the moisturiser.
It comes to you in a simply designed pot with no frills just basic information provided on the outside. What can you expect for such little money?
The moisturiser is part of the Avon Care range which is their budget end of products available. You will usually find offers on these products as well. A 200ml pot usually retails for £3.50 but it's on offer at time of writing for half price.
The pot is generously filled, and when you open it for the first time you can smell a nice fresh delicate fragrance. There is nothing overpowering about the moisturiser, but you will be able to smell you have applied something to your face.
This product is claimed to be light and non greasy formula which is good for regaining the moisture balance in your skin.
I always use this after washing my face, but usually more so at night rather than the morning. You don't need to apply a lot to get maximum cover, and if you do apply too much I find you will need to wash it off as it doesn't sink into the skin very quickly.
As it doesn't sink in very quickly I am always conscious of not putting too much on. I always apply this with my fingers as I find it easier to massage into my skin.
For an after effect I find this moisturiser gives my skin a fresh feeling and it does feel slightly soft after an hour or so. By the following morning I wouldn't have known I had put anything on my skin, but I don't expect this to work miracles.
I find this moisturiser is great to helping to remove make up if I have run out of makeup remover, as it seems to act as a base to lift the underlying makeup. I don't tend to do this very often but in an emergency I'll try anything.
This moisturiser contains Vitamin E which is used to promote smooth skin. It's designed to be used on a dally basis, and is a great staple product for the bathroomshelf, especially when money is getting harder to find for luxuries.
Summary: a good all round product
