Advantages: Seems to be working
Disadvantages: Isn't a miracle worker!
Every now and again, I wander past the YSL cosmetic counter in my local town. Everytime I pass I think "shall I buy it today?" and everytime I have thought "no, I'll get it with next months wages". Know what I'm talking about? YSL Touche Eclat - apprently the miracle worker for covering up dark under eye circles. About three weeks ago I was walking past the YSL counter and I thought, "THAT'S IT! I'M BUYING IT TODAY!" when my friend stopped me and said that Avon do an undereye cream for £7.50 that gets rid of undereye circles! Well, that did it! Not only would I save myself £12.50, I'd get something that would make my circles dissapear and wouldn't simply be covering up the horrible purply-black rings (super attractive as I'm sure you can imagine!). Next say I was on the Avon site, frantically trying to find this 'wonder cream'. And then I found it. There it was 'Avon Lighten Up Undereye Cream'...it went straight into my shopping cart. This was the first time I'd ever purchased any Avon product - it was all a brand new experience for me! The blurb next to the picture said that I would have clearer, brighter skin in less than two weeks. Wow! I couldn't wait for it to arrive! In a few days it came. It came in a fairly small cream box which looks quite elegant. Inside there was the 15ml tube and a little leaflet explaining how to use the product. The instructions basically say to apply the cream morning and night. Apparently it was specially developed to be quick-absorbing so that you could apply make-up straight after application. They're absolutly right - it does absorb quickly! My friend who also used this finds that this isn't the case and tends to be a little greasy. I suppose it's different on different skins. It didn't irritate the skin around my eyes at all. I wouldn't suggest applying this immediatly after cleansing. I found this m
ade my skin tingle a bit! If you have super sensitive skin, try a little out first before slapping loads on! Although it's meant to be a gentle cream, it's not worth risking have blotchy red itchy eyes! The product comes nice and easily out of the tube and isn't messy at all. It comes in a box which is always useful but it will stand alone on it's lid (if that little piece of information is at all useful to you!) Within two weeks, the packet claims that the cream will make the skin look noticably younger. I'm only 17 so I'm guessing this doesn't apply to me just yet! After 4 weeks dark circles should be considerably lighter. I've been using this product for two weeks now, morning and night, and have already noticed a (small) difference in the darkness of my circles! Even though the tube is only 15ml, I've hardly got through any of the product! It's definatly going to last me! Bonus! I would recommend this cream to those of you who suffer from dark rings - it certainly seems to make a difference. Hopefully when I get a bit more cash, I'll still get the YSL Touche Eclat but for now the Avon's doing me just fine! If you buy this and are dissatisfied with us, Avon have a policy whereby you can return products even if you've used them! You can order the products online or through the catalogue if you have one. If you don't then you can order one online. I've been flicking through the catalogue they sent along with my order - they got some pretty good buys in there so I think it's worth a look! The one thing that really did get on my nerves was that when I was looking through the brochure, there was my £7.50 on offer for £3.25! HMMMPPPHH! All in all, it's not a wonder product and won't perform miracles - at least in the short run! But give it a try and you might be pleasantly surprised like me! If you want to take a look a

- 08/02/02 Sounds good. My mum and I swear by the Molton Browne one, but it is a bit more expensive. Han |

- 08/02/02 This sounds good, but do you need it at 17? I'm 32 & suddenly feel very old, LOL! |
|
- 08/02/02 Surely at 17 you don't need anything that makes you look younger anyway? I don't think I do, and I'm....errr....a fair bit more than 17!
