Advantages: leaves skin very clean, great for oily skin, smells nice, easy to use

Disadvantages: dries the skin so if you have dry skin type use plenty of moisturiser

Last year I was given a couple of items from the Avon Planet Spa range as a gift. One of these items is the Dead Sea Minerals facial mud mask. I don't often use face masks so I wasn't sure it would be of much use to me but later in the year I decided to give it a try.

The tube is grey with a clear flip top lid. It's 75ml in size and the product claims to remove impurities. The mask itself is as you'd expect, a grey clay type texture that you apply, leave on (it dries on) for 5-10 minutes then wash off.

This smells very nice, very fresh and the mask is easy to apply as it's so thick.

When I tried it I applied, left it for 5 minutes while it merrily dried on my face then washed it off. It can be tricky to get it all off but I don't think that's exclusive to just this mask, it's all of them. Once it had all gone I splashed my face with cold water, dried off then had a look.

My skin did indeed look very fresh and clear and I was very pleased with the results. However, I have dry skin and found once the initial moisturising effect of the water had gone it had dried my skin out quite alot so I applied lots of moisturiser afterwards.

Another thing I noticed is a couple of days later I had a couple of spots (this is fairly normal after using a mask) so if you were using this in preparation for a big event it's probably best to use it several times beforehand so your skin is used to it.

Overall it smelt fresh, had a good thick texture, left my skin glowing if a bit dry and seemed to do what it promised. I use it once every couple of weeks and amazingly I've still got some left so it lasts ages.

I don't know the price as this was a gift but I can recommend it.
