Definitely does more than just moisturise (Bio Oil)

Advantages: Brilliant for sunburn or seriously dry skin

Bio-Oil is a light, easily absorbed oil with a light scent, which can either be directly massaged into your skin or used as a bath oil. The packaging suggests that its main uses are for scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone and ageing or dehydrated skin. I bought it because i saw some on offer (about £5 for the small size bottle) and had seen so many awards etc for it that i thought i'd give it a try.

Initial impressions were that it's pleasant to use, sinks in quickly, and a little goes a long way. Even on my face, it didn't leave an oily feeling for very long.

I don't suffer from scars or stretch marks, but do get extremely dry skin on my legs and found that a few drops of this oil added to my normal body lotion makes a big difference. However, the one area i've found it to really shine is sunburn - added to a cool bath, and then either mixed with aftersun for large areas, or just smoothed on directly when it's my face. I really believe it makes a difference to how quickly the skin is soothed, and reduces the amount of peeling etc afterwards.

All in all, i think it's a good product that really delivers more than just moisturising - and although it's not cheap, a small bottle will last for ages - i've had mine over a year now and still have probably 1/2 left.

Summary: Every bathroom should have a bottle.
