Advantages: doesnt stain
Disadvantages: ha! read!!!!!
It said on the bottle that this small bottle of oil would get rid of stretch marks and scars as well as uneven skin tone and ageing skin - well it hasn't worked for me.
It's in a small white and orange box and is available in most chemists, including Bairds and Boots. It retails at £8.99 a bottle - i think it's got around 50ml but i will need to confirm this.
I used Bio-oil for a number of months and went through a total of four bottles. It said that you should see an improvement within about 2months depending on your skin tone and type and also what the problem is and the age of your skin.
I have a bad scar on my back and although i am thin i seem to have stretch marks on my hips - not a nice sight and makes me feel uncomfortable!
I have tried everything to get rid of these, especially the scar and nothing seems to have worked - although a nice tan or san tropay fake tan fades them-but doesn't last long!!
Bio-oil contains lavender, rosemary oil, calendula, vitamin A & E, and camomile extract - therefore it does make your skin feel really soft and I find it a good moisturizer. When i was holiday i used it instead of aftersun and my skin didnt peel once - which is definitely a first for me!
The Bio-oil should be rubbed on in circular motion around the problem area for a few minutes 2-4 times a day - now i am not sure about any of you but I simply don't have time to start rubbing oil on me in the middle of the day so I only used it after a shower in the morning and only sometimes in the evening but i did follow the guidelines on rubbing it in for a few minutes. i did it for about 5minutes a day! I tried it on my face too and it made my skin really soft and smooth and stopped peeling as I sometimes have dry skin! I also used it to massage my boyfriends calf muscles before a football match and he seemed to think it helped him not to cramp up during the match - maybe that was just the massage but it seems to help with circulation too.
Too be honest, i would not recommend this product for help with stretchmarks and scars but if you want a good moisturizer and soft skin then you could try this or to help circulation - good luck and i hope it works better for you.
Summary: not very good
