Advantages: A great skin clearing scrub
Disadvantages: none yet
I have recently written a review on a facial scrub by clean & clear that I thought had been the best one I had used, the problem was that for Christmas my mum had bought me a box of bits which included this Bior scrub. So after finishing the last of my favourite I decided to give this one a go I doubted that it would top my favourite one as it had taken me ages to find that one so what was the chances of finding another one just as good? But seeing as mum bought it for me I felt it would be rude and wasteful not to give it a try, so how did it compare to my favourite?
PACKAGING
The Biore products seem to have a bit of a face-lift recently and seem to have a more up to date look about their packaging. This particular product comes in the standard plastic stand up tube; the tube is a sort of frosted see through but looks green because that's what colour the scrub is! It also has some nice different coloured stripes on the top and states on the front that this is new and exfoliates better than ever! If it's new how can it exfoliate better! The lid is clear in colour and is your basic flip top, which does seem to get very messy when, squeezing out the scrub even more than normal with this sort of packaging but that could be me!
PRODUCT STATEMENT
Now your pores can breath a sigh of relief with Biore pore unclogging scrub. This gentle pore cleansing scrub with salicylic acid gently lifts away dead skin cells and cleanses away pore-clogging dirt and oil. Perfect to use every day to leave your skin looking radiant and fresh.
USING
The first thing I noticed about this scrub is the scent it has a really nice fresh scent it kind of reminds me of summer and for some reason cucumbers! The scrub itself is a very light green with dark green tiny beads; it does feel a bit slimy to touch but not overly. You use this scrub as you would use any face wash, basically wet your face with warm water and massage a small amount into your face and neck. You really don't have to use a lot as a little goes a long way, when you squeeze the scrub out of the tube it comes out like a small thin sausage, not runny but not so thick it doesn't come out easily.
It spreads over the face very well it doesn't foam up a lot but feels quite refreshing on the skin; you can also feel the tiny beads exfoliating your skin. The beads do feel a little bit scratchy but it's not an unpleasant feeling, you don't have to scrub the skin to hard, as the beads seem to do their job with minimal scrubbing! Even in the worst spots such as around your nose and chin.
Rinsing is very easy and I don't have to scrub to get of the last bits, I tend to pat dry my face with a nice fluffy towel after using a face scrub (I wish! the towels are normally wet and flat after my lot have used them!).
So does it work? In a word yes I have to say that I have noticed a difference in my skin since using this scrub. My pores seem really clear especially around my nose; I haven't spotted one blackhead since I started using this product. I have also noticed that the spots I occasionally get around my chin seemed to have become less, I can't say that after using this my skin is soft enough to stop using moisturiser but it certainly doesn't get that tight feeling that you can get with some scrubs.
I can also say that my skin has had no reaction to this product and my skin can be a bit temperamental and flare up with a lot of these kinds of products, I can get dry red patches after using some scrubs but I am happy to report that I had no experience of these.
