If there's one thing that always seems to affect me from late October every year it's chapped lips. No matter how much Vaseline I put on them at night I always seem to get sore lips during the day. Luckily my skin doesn't really flake off as I've seen on some people but nonetheless my lips feel chapped, dry and generally sting a little. I never leave the house without a lip balm in my bag and over the years I've become a bit of an expert when it comes to lip balms. In my work handbag (yes I have a handbag for work and then several for weekend usage) I'm currently carrying a little pot of Blistex Daily Lip Conditioner which I purchased last month from Boots for ... I decided to buy Blistex last winter as my drips were constantly chapped because they were battered by our country's weather. I popped down to my local Boots and paid £2.09 for a small 14 gram pot. The pot is very small and round with a screw cap and has a green carboard packaging that it is advertised in. This particular Blistex was a Daily Lip Conditioner although Blistex do a wide range of lip care products. The Daily Lip Conditioner is advertised to 'be used every day no matter what the climate or activity'. It is a lip balm as opposed to a cream and can de applied daily. The purpose of the balm, is to sooth and replenish dry lips. The other ... Read the complete review

So the big chill sets in and my lips dry out. That is basically the deal my body seems to have with Mother Nature. After finally getting through my tube of Carmex which is my number one choice of lip care, I was in a dilemma. Either sit at work all day licking my lips until they were red raw or popping to the corner shop and see if they has any emergency supplies in there! I couldn't bare it anymore and I chose the second option. Corner shop here I come. They had hardly any beauty or health supplies, just the usual bread and milk. But behind the counter, where they keep the odd packet of painkillers and the like, I saw a glimmer of hope. I was actually surprised that ... Read the complete review

Spending much time outside with the horses, lip balms are a must for my chapped, sometimes flaky lips over the winter months! I have tried a number of brands, colours, consistencies over the years including nivea sticks, Vaseline pots (inc the aloe vera one) and other blistex products. I wasn't overly impressed with their soothing splash liquid one that I had tried previously which really dried my lips out. I was all set on buying the Carmex lip balm (priced at £2.44) but saw this Blistex one at £1.95 and thought why not, any reason to save a bit of money! The screw lid on the pot is very easy to open, especially when my hands are freezing cold ... Read the complete review

Having bought this not so long ago, I already seem addicted to it! It set me back all of £2.50 for the little 7ml pot! I am sure it is cheaper elsewhere so keep your eyes out- I was desperate as my lips were very sore and I was at a petrol service station, I was feeling sorry for myself as I had just missed my bus and had a long walk home or 45 minute wait! Lip balm just seemed to fit the bill... I have been using it every day. Its done the trick in terms of healing my chapped lips, but I do have to say I am wary of the pot! I am wary because I am very aware that man made paraffin waxes and glycerin's can actually in turn make your lips dry. They ... Read the complete review
