A lip drenching let down (Blistex Drench Lip Splash Liquid Moisturiser)

In the winter my lips get so dry and damaged from the freezing icey winds I use a whole selection of lip products to prevent the peeling and painful cracks. As with so many products I try I was of course sucked in by the magic of advertising and decided to give Blistex Drench a try when it promised to soak my lips in glorious liquid and leave them smooth and full of moisture.

It was quite pricey for a tiny little tube £4.50 for thimbull of "lip drench" but although the tube is very small it is quite a neat little design with a screw top so the contents will not spill out and it has a small metal roll ball applicator. It can be found in most major supermarkets and beauty shops such as boots and superdrug. The price doesnt seem to differ between the stores as I found after shopping around for the product.

I applied it to my lips and it was soothing straight away the coldness of the ball applicator felt nice and the liquid made my lips feel moisterised and smooth instantly. I was very pleased with this product, however after about 10 minutes the liquid had come off my lips and I was no longer basking in the drenching moisture of the lip splash. I ended up having to apply to my lips every 10 minutes just to keep them cracking up. Due to the constant re-application the product only lasted about 2 weeks.

I was very dissapointed after what had been such a promising start. I continue to use some of Blistex other products but this was a big let down, I wouldnt recommend it even though it did leave my lips looking shiney and pouty even if it was a short lived experience!
