The thing I long for, and am still on a quest for, are soft lush lips. Unfortunately the reality is, with the long harsh winters here my lips are constantly dry. They are not so extreme to be flaky but they are always dry, chapped and feel rough to the touch - not what a girl wants and not what a guy wants to kiss! I tend to buy a lot of lip balms and the like, mostly because I either lose them, or because (and this is usually the case) my daughter claims them as her own 'make up' and I never see them again. When my lips were particularly bad I decided I needed something a little more than just your regular chap stick. Browsing the shelves I spotted this ... Read the complete review

I was in Boots the other day and I was doing a regular check of my favourite products to see if any were on offer. One of the products I checked was lip salves and I found that the Blistex products were on offer 2 for £3. I noticed that there was one called Blistex Intensive Moisturiser Hydrate which looked very similar in package design to the Nivea one that I like so much. The normal price is £2.25 so 2 for £3 was an excellent offer. The lip balm comes in a little cardboard box fixed to the bottom of a piece of cardboard so the packaging is all recycleable then, as the tube itself also ends up in the recycling bag when it is empty too, so that's ... I have the misfortune of suffering from dry, cracked lips at times and nothing seems to work anymore-not even my beloved little tub of Vaseline which used to do the trick. Then a friend recommended I tried some of this - she said it had transformed her dry, sore chapped lips into a perfect pout. 'Bah humbag!' I replied, as having tried just about every other suitable lip balm and found they weren't suitable for me had turned me into a Scrooge as far as lip balms were concerned. But as I had nothing to lose, I headed to my local Superdrug (5 minutes walk away from my home- dangerous for potential spending!) and sure enough they stocked it. Price ... Read the complete review

I have recently discovered that blistex is the mothership of all lip moisturisers/balms. Possibly a bit of an extreme expression is granted. And at the cost of £2.49 from Wilkinsons of all places, I would expect nothing less! Especiallly as it comes in a tiny wee tube which contains only 5mg of the stuff. Appareantly it contains 5 different moisturisers to seal moisture into the lips, I'm personally a bit dubious about this and have the opinion that it's just words. It also has another 'ingredient' called SPF6. This is supposed to protect the thin skin on your lips, which as most people know, is susceptible to the wear and tear of everyday ... Since the cold weather has started to come through, I've been using this everyday - I think this one's pretty good. What is it? ******** An intensive lip moisturiser. What does it do? ************* It contains five different moisturisers, designed to penetrate deep into the skin to ensure complete long lasting hydration of the lips. The moisturiser also has a sun screen of SPF 6. Is it good? ******** It's a very soothing moisturiser and with a claim to contain five different moisturisers there are really no excuses for your lips to be still dry after applying this. The effects are instant and it has a ... Read the complete review
