Advantages: Minty and works really well

Disadvantages: Bit pricey for such a small product.

I have recently discovered that blistex is the mothership of all lip moisturisers/balms. Possibly a bit of an extreme expression is granted. And at the cost of £2.49 from Wilkinsons of all places, I would expect nothing less! Especiallly as it comes in a tiny wee tube which contains only 5mg of the stuff.

Appareantly it contains 5 different moisturisers to seal moisture into the lips, I'm personally a bit dubious about this and have the opinion that it's just words. It also has another 'ingredient' called SPF6. This is supposed to protect the thin skin on your lips, which as most people know, is susceptible to the wear and tear of everyday life!

The intial product is white and comes out of the tube quite quicky. I'm not a big lover of mint but there's just enough in the moisturiser to make it bearable. It does give off a slight tingling feeling which I haven't had from many other lip care items. Somehow it does make your mouth feel plumper which isn't all that easy to put down in words for it to make sense.

One of the problems you do have is that, as it is more of a liquid base balm it does come off pretty easily when eating or drinking and I have the impression that I look like a bit of a muppet pressing my lips together to make it last longer!

You have to be careful with this as if you put too much on your lips look pale and practically white in colour, and yes there's always the most obvious solution of rubbing it off but I find that right in the corner of your mouth it always appear lighter to the rest of it.

This is a great product and although not exactly cheap for what it is, it still works extremely well and gets rid of dry or chapped lips. I would recommend this, especially if you want an item which actually shows that it works rather than the models they put on the TV, who have obviously got soft mouths!
