Advantages: Works!
Disadvantages: None really
Completely running out of my usual eye make-up remover I popped to Boots to get the same again. I'm not faithful to anything for long usually but L'Oreal eye make-up remover is the biz so I repeatedly buy it! However not only was it not in stock but I spotted these (which I'd never seen before) and they were on offer. Unable to resit the bargain I got them as a part of a buy one product from the range get another one free so I opted for the face wipes and these (normally costing £2.29 a packet each).
The Packaging....
Off white in colour, oblong, plastic flattish packet with a pull off and on label to the middle of it (to get a pad out from) and that is light pink in colour and on that in black and gold writing I'm told they are Boots 'Complete Skincare' Eye Make-Up Remover Pads with ProVitamin B5 & Magnolia and that they...
- Gently remove ever waterproof make-up
- Soothes and calms tired eyes
- Oil- free creamy formula
- Are suitable for all skin types.
On the back of the packet (now all in black writing) I'm told a bit about the product and how to use them, ingredients and contact details for Boots are listed, the recycle symbol is displayed and finally there is a bar-code on there. I like the neat and handy concept of these but unfortunately instead of the label peeling back slightly to get a pad out of it after a few uses it completely comes off and is hard to stick back on properly so you do need to watch what your doing or the pads will dry out on you!
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Packet....
Help your skin look and feel beautiful with Boots Complete Skincare.
These eye make-up remover pads have been expertly developed with skin conditioning ProVitamin B5 and caring Magnolia to give your skin exactly what it needs to look and feel it's best.
Beauty Benefits....
Gently removes ever waterproof eye make-up and mascara
Pampers the delicate eye area with a luxurious rich creamy formula, leaving it soft, smooth and cleansed with no oily residue
Soothes and calms tired eyes
Beauty Tip....
For a cooling eye mask, leave 2 pads in the fridge for 10-15 minutes. Rest pads on eyes and sit back and relax. This calms and soothes tired eyes and helps to reduce puffiness. PH balanced. Soap free. Perfume and colour free. Dermatologically tested.
Using Them....
Well the primary use of these pads (for me) is to remove make-up from the eyes are which is of course why I purchased them in the first place! lol.
The pads themselves are white, very, very thin but made of material rather than paper and are squared off to the edges of each one. All over the pad there are little raised squares to help remove said make up of course. They are soft to the touch and moist and barely have any smell to them at all.
Using them is a pleasant experience as promised, none greasy but moist basically they feel like you wiping soft water over your eyes. No drips, none fussy to use they remove make-up as easy as anything (though for heavy eye make-up removal you may need a couple of pads per eye) they leave eyes, soft to the touch and hydrated in a none greasy way as promised and clean. I find with these I don't have to scrub my sensitive eyes I simply sweep my eyes with them and they are muck collectors and leave no residue on my skin and leave a none sticky, dried up feeling.
As for using them as eye masks, yep that is nice enough too. I pop 2 on a plate in fridge wait for them to cool and then as recommended I plop 2 on my clean eyes for a few minutes at a time when they're cold enough and they really are reviving and seem to soften and hydrate the area slightly.
Verdict....
Nice handy little pack though I do wish Boots would sort the dodgy label out for me lol! They work, they are multi-tasking and great to use on very sensitive eyes like mine! I enjoy the fact I can pamper my eyes with these by treating them to a cooling eye mask that really does revive and refresh them and in my view these really are worth every single penny!
Only available in Boots stores.
Summary: Worth a go!
