Cucumber cleanser (Boots Cucumber 2 in 1 Cleanser and Toner)

I use both the Boots cucumber face wipes and the 3-minute mask and have been pleased with both of them, so when I noticed the 2 in 1 cleanser and toner I thought I would give it a try.

~Packaging~

This comes in a very plain looking green bottle with a flip top lid for dispensing the product.

~Using it~

The back of the bottle states that the product should be applied to cotton wool, swept over the face and rinsed or wiped off. I can see why they suggest using cotton wool, as the cleanser is very runny, but I think it's a waste of cotton wool if I'm honest, so after using the cotton wool method a couple of times, I decided to just squeeze it into my hand and apply it directly to my face - saving money and the environment!!
The cleanser is a very pale green in colour and has, as you would expect, a cucumber scent, but it also has a quite sharp tone to the smell, almost like a chemical sort of scent to it.

~Results~

The first week or so of using this, I found that it left my skin feeling really dry. I was disappointed with that, as I hadn't experienced any dryness with the other products in the range. I don't like to waste things though, and I decided to keep using it for a while longer, in the hope that my skin might magically get used to it or something!! Unfortunately it hasn't, and now I'm about 1/3 of the way through the bottle, I am finding that it is also leaving my skin feeling tight, so it looks like I am going to have to give up on it and use something else. On the plus side it does remove make-up, but isn't much good on eye make-up -for that you will need to use a specific eye make-up remover.

~Price~

This costs £1.49 for a 150ml bottle from Boots.

~Overall Verdict~

I was surprised that I didn't like this, given that I have liked the other products in the range. It is cheap, but as they say, you get what you pay for, and I would much rather pay £6 + for my usual No.7 cleanser, than buy this one again.
