I will start by saying, if you are an oddball like me, who is allergic to their own tears and has a tendency to puff up like a balloon after a crying session, you need this stuff!

We all have our bad days, and after being stressed out last week I ended up falling asleep exhausted having had a bit of a blub. Not a problem you'd think, everyone sobs from time to time lol. Well, MY problem is, if I fall asleep without washing my face, my eyes seem to react like I've been bombed with tear gas. I seriously look like my eyes have swollen to the point where they are all puffy and painful.

This is where Boots essentials cucumber eye gel comes into it's own. Applying this stuff, especially if you keep it in the fridge, is a massive relief for my tired and sore eyes. It's light weight and easily absorbed. Not at all greasy, and with a vague refreshing aroma of the cucumber. It is just a small tube, 15ml, which is a useful size for popping into your handbag.

This product lightly hydrates, meaning it's not richly moisturising, more a wake-up call for your eyes. If you have ever had little tiny white spots around your eyes as I have, this is an indication of over moisturisation anyway, some face creams are just too rich for the thin skin around your eyes so this is a good alternative.

This particular eye gel is only £1.46 a tube. Great value as you only need a tiny pea sized amount for each eye. I tend to just dab it on and let it sink in, which it does very quickly, especially if my eyes are sore. It's such a great feeling when your skin is all dry and tight.

Summary: Excellent product especially for sore and tired eyes
