I was given these pads as part of a "birthday box" along with many nail polishes, and nail polish remover, otherwise, it is probably not a product that I would have bought, having always used cotton wool to remove any nail varnish. However, I have been suitably impressed with these pads.

Made from 100% cotton, these pads are advertised for use on either face or nails, are super absorbant for applying liquids, and do not provide fluff or lint, and thus are ideal for contact wearers. On this they have a valid point, as this used to be the one nightmare with cotton wool.

The pads are double sided, one side being very smooth, the other slightly rougher, and which side you use depends on whether you are using them on your face or nails. They are very absorbant, and while this has its advantages, it also means that you seem to go through quite a few when removing nail polish. For putting on moisturiser or toner on your face though, they are very good, as they are gentle on your skin, and don't cause any irritation- there's nothing worse than feeling itchy.

The pads come in a small bag containing 50, which is ideal to pop in an overnight bag should you be travelling. I also imagine that they do larger sizes for home.

Overall, I would buy these pads again, as they do deliver what they say on the packet, and for me, the main advantage is the lack of fluff, which is associated with cotton wool.

Summary: a great product, particularly for those who hate the fluff associated with cotton wool
