Advantages: Gentle wipes that still effectively remove oil and grime, good value if on offer

Disadvantages: Can take a while to get rid of eye make-up, bit pricey if not on offer

Cleaning my face has become something of a chore lately and I often reach for the facial wipes if I can't be bothered with cleanser and toner. I was using a supermarket own brand but wasn't very satisfied with those, so I snapped these up when I saw them in Boots on a two for £3 offer. I've had good experiences with Boots Essentials products in the past so I hoped that this trend would continue while using these facial wipes.

***The Packaging***
As you can see from the above product image, the packaging is quite basic. The pack is re-sealable and seems to stay sticky. I've almost finished using the current pack and the seal still seems as sticky as it was in the beginning so none of the wipes have dried out.

***The Wipes***
The wipes themselves are quite moist, although I would prefer them to be a bit more moist as it can sometimes be difficult to remove stubborn make-up and grime. On the other hand, I often use these wipes to remove mascara and other stubborn eye make-up, so it's probably actually a good job that they're not too moist as that could cause a few problems.

***Using The Wipes***
I don't know if it's just a coincidence, but my skin seems clearer since I've been too lazy to use cleanser and toner so these must do a good job of removing oil and make-up. They do a good of getting rid of mascara, but it often takes a couple of wipes to do this for the Maybelline mascara that I normally use, especially if I'm wearing dark or strong eyeshadow as well.

***The Price***
If they're not on offer, they usually cost £2.49 per packet. However, they are often on the 2 for £3 promotion that persuaded me to buy them, so this works out at pretty good value.

***Overall Thoughts***
I have sensitive skin and these have never upset me. They aren't actually marketed as being for sensitive skin (just fragrance free) but they seem gentle enough to use on both the general face area and the delicate eye area without problems. You may need to work a bit harder to get rid of eye make-up, but cleaning the rest of my face with these involves little more than wiping across my face and this seems to be good enough to remove dirt, oil and make-up.

Summary: Good for when you want relatively fuss-free cleansing

My teenage daughter likes cleansing wipes so will give these a try for her.

I might invest in some of these.
