Pro-vitamin B5 is something we see in a number of cosmetics these days and I looked it up and found it is a moisturising ingredient so the other two reduce swelling and work in an astringent way while the B5 keeps some moisture in the skin. I can't comment on the outer packaging as mine came in a gift set without any but the tube is a simple ivory colour with gold writing on it an...more

Premium Review Boots No.7 Awakening Eye Gel: Look awake even if you aren't! (464 words)

I do night shifts and as a result my sleeping pattern has been quite badly affected. Although I've done nights for several years now, its only the last 6 months or so that I've felt the tiredness creeping up on me - I must be getting old!! Anyway, sometimes I only manage a few hours sleep at a time, and my eyes look puffy and tired. I decided it would be a good idea to invest in an eye gel or cream to try and combat the problem, and eventually decided on the No.7 awakening eye gel from Boots. ~About the gel~ This gel promises to 'reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles' so the skin around your eyes will look revitalised. It is ...  Read the complete review

Last Xmas I was given a huge box of No 7 skincare items and over the year I've been working my way through most of them. A couple of weeks ago I noticed my eyes felt dry and puffy and the thought that sprung to mind instantly was "I need some eye gel" but I didn't think I had any. I finally rummaged through my box of No 7 items and realised I had a tube of the No 7 Awakening Eye Gel so I decided to try that. The tube is 15ml which is not a trial size but full size and if you buy this from Boots it will set you back £8. It claims to "soothe away signs of long hours and late nights" and reduce puffiness and dark circles. It is ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Boots No.7 Awakening Eye Gel: Witch hazel, water or awakening gel? (474 words)

Tired eyes can make your whole face look tired, and unfortunately when I worked I used to suffer with viral conjunctivitis and had to use medication from the GP, my eyes were often red and puffy. But since retiring it has cleared up, but I am guilty of staying on the computer for long hours and staying up late, then if I don't get to sleep my eyes are puffy the next day. So I was very pleased to see a tube of Awakening eye gel in box of No7 goodies I received from my daughter at Christmas. My tube contains 15mls, and is pearly white with a screw top lid. I checked the cost at Boots and it is currently selling at £7.83, so an expensive product, but you need ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Dark circles? What dark circles? (393 words)

I bought this at Boots when I had one of the £5 off No7 vouchers, this should have been £8 so I got it for £3. The gel comes in a little tube which looks white but as you start using it you will realise its a slightly see through plastic. The tube stands upside down on its lid, it comes in one size, 15ml. On the back of the tube it shows the symbol of an open tub stating it lasts 6 months once opened but i've had mine over that amount of time and its not caused any problems (yet) lol. On the front it says; No7 in gold writing, and then 'Awakening eye gel' underneath in fine black writing, at the bottom of the tube it says ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Boots No.7 Awakening Eye Gel: A Little Eye Refreshment (323 words)

I very often work 9-5 in the office and then 7-3 in the pub meaning that I generally always have 'tired eyes.' I bought this product when Boots was offering "3 for 2" on their No 7 products as I didn't want to pay the £8 for a small tube to find it didn't work. The packaging promises to "reduce appearance of puffiness and dark circles" leaving you looking refreshed and awakened. Perfect - just what I needed. The gel itself comes in an almost translucent white tube which has a nozzle to allow better control over the amount dispensed. This is very handy as you only need a small amount. It is fragrance-free and states that it is ...  Read the complete review
