Advantages: Cooling & Refreshing On The Eyes

Disadvantages: Didn't Do Much To Reduce Puffiness & Dark Circles

I very often work 9-5 in the office and then 7-3 in the pub meaning that I generally always have 'tired eyes.' I bought this product when Boots was offering "3 for 2" on their No 7 products as I didn't want to pay the £8 for a small tube to find it didn't work.

The packaging promises to "reduce appearance of puffiness and dark circles" leaving you looking refreshed and awakened. Perfect - just what I needed.

The gel itself comes in an almost translucent white tube which has a nozzle to allow better control over the amount dispensed. This is very handy as you only need a small amount. It is fragrance-free and states that it is suitable for sensitive skin.

As a sufferer of excema around the eyes, I am particularly wary of what I apply to that sensitive area and I'm pleased to say that I suffered no adverse affects from using this gel.

To use the gel, you simple squeeze a small amount onto the tip of your finger and pat it onto the affected areas. It does feel very wet at first, even with the smallest amounts, but after a few pats and seconds it does begin to dry into the skin feeling very light and fresh. If you keep your gel in a cool place you will find the cool gel on your eyes very refreshing.

Overall I would say the best part was the cold gel on my puffy eyes, it felt lovely, but I would not say that it did much for the puffiness or the black circles. I think I'll have to stick to concealer to hide those. I keep the tube in my handbag and apply it when my eyes feel tired and hot in the stuffy office. The cold gel does make them feel more refreshed but makes no visible difference (for me anyway).

Summary: A nice treat in the summer for tired eyes but keep your concealer handy!
