Advantages: Cheap, leaves skin soft

Disadvantages: Not great if your skin is really dry, no fragrance

Last Christmas I got a few different gift sets from Boots with lots of lovely Boots No7 products in. This was a great way of trying some different products to see what they are like. The one I am reviewing today is the Essential Moisture Day Cream.

The cream is available only in Boots stores or online at Boots.com. It costs £8.50 for a 50ml jar although Boots often have special offers including 3 for 2 or a free gift set when you spend over a certain amount so its worth looking out for these offers if you are interested in buying it.

It contains Vitamins E and F and elderflower which is used for its soothing properties. It is hypoallergenic, dermatologically tested and is also fragrance free.

My cream comes in a little tub as it was a smaller size version in a gift set. However the full size comes in a jar with screw top lid. It is a pale pink moderate consistency cream. The smell is a bit disappointing really not much to write home about but I guess this is because it is designed to be fragrance free.

You only need a small amount of the cream as a little seems to go a long way. The cream absorbs quickly into my skin and doesn't leave any greasiness. My skin feels softer and smoother after using it and I am quite pleased at how it moisturises my skin.

I do like this moisturiser as an everyday cream. I would however prefer something that smelled a little bit more appealing especially as I am used to using Clarins products which in general smell lovely. My skin also goes through quite dry phases at times and when it does I find that this cream isn't rich enough or moisturising enough to tackle my skin during these dry phases and I have to change to a richer moisturiser. I would therefore not recommend it if your skin is really dry. I think this is a nice everyday moisturiser for your skin and is great for everyday use and a price that is not too bad.

Summary: A good everyday moisturiser at a good price from Boots
