Advantages: Smells Wonderful
Disadvantages: May Be Pricey For Some Budgets
Introduction
I received quite a few freebies while I was shopping in boots around six weeks ago which contained some excellent items which normally would have cost me an absolute fortune. Quite frankly I probably would never have purchased a full-size bottle as a result of their normal retail prices however with a tester you can trial products safe in the knowledge that if they don't work or live up to their name you really haven t lost anything well financially anyway. One of the items that I received in my pack was a mini tub of No7 protect and perfect day cream and it is my use of this tester that I will now review.
The Packaging
This little tester contained 15ml of the product and was in quite a cute however expensive looking little tub similar to all of the other items in the protect and perfect range. (Their trademark colours I suppose so you can recognise the brand). The predominant colour is a rich cream with the No7 logo and product name embossed in a gold leaf across the front. The lid was plastic in nature and was a screw-top which I have to say did not close properly however it was free so I wasn't complaining. The only information on the back of the item was use within 24 months and the boots website if you require further information which is www.boots.com
The Product
I opened up the cream and was faced with a bright white product. I found it wasn't as thick as I would have expected more of a crème fraiche type consistency. My day cream of choice is normally Clarins Hydra quench which has quite a thick consistency and one which I would normally expect from a day cream. Having said this it wasn't a thin liquid either. The fragrance matched that of the other protect and perfect range of products like buttermilk with a light crisp clean and fresh scent. I put a small amount of the product on the palm of my hand and it was extremely light which was surprising again I would expect it to have a little bit of weight to it not the case. The product claims that it will give renewed radiance to your skin.
Application and Results
I applied the product to my face and neck as per the manufacturer's instructions; it felt nice when it went on light and fresh the fragrance delicious. I have to add that the makers suggest that for best results that this should be used after cleansing and toning and applying in addition their protect and perfect serum however I did not use this. I don't however think that it ruined the overall results on my skin anyway. The day cream and these are the manufacturer's words not mine works to improve the resilience of the skin to the ageing effects of the sun and pollution smoothing fine lines and ultimately leaving skin with a healthy renewed radiance. It has SPF 15 and is apparently likened to having a mini facial everyday!!! I have to say that my little 15ml pot lasted a good few weeks and I was quite pleased with the results. I have very fine lines around my eyes and I certainly thought that using the day cream reduced these somewhat. Or was it due to my new foundation. Anyway my skin did feel firmer and overall I was very pleased with the product. My skin feeling clean hydrated and moisturised. What more could you ask for!!!!!
Overall
This product retails at around the £20 mark which is £15 less than my usual Clarins product and I will certainly be tempted to buy this as a replacement product when it runs out. The cream by the way is also like the other products in the range hypo-allergenic and dermalogically tested ideal if you have sensitive skin like mine. The full-sized product apparently comes in a smart glass jar and you will receive 76 advantage card points too. Well worth a try I really think that this range of products overall will certainly be a great rival for the likes of Clarins. Expensive but still affordable for mere mortals like myself.
Five star rating super product.
Summary: Worth a Try
