Advantages: Clean, toned and supple

Disadvantages: My usage of cotton wool balls has escalated

I was bought up on the skin care routine - cleanse, tone, moisturise- and I followed that mantra, morning and night for more years than I presently care to admit to. Then I read a skin care article informing me that the middleman could be cut out - that toning was a waste of time and money and that cleanse and moisturise was the way forward. I was convinced and for years, and until just recently toning became a regime constituent of the past.

I am now back to my old ways and happy to be doing the old routine- CTM...........

I had a number of £5 discount vouchers for Boots No.7 and not being exactly flush at the moment and wanting to limit the "extra" spend, one of the choices I made was for Soft & Soothed Gentle Toner. This only meant paying an additional £2.50 for 200ml- now that is a good deal.

I cleanse my face and then by just putting sufficient enough toner, from the bottle using the press release top, on a cotton wool ball, I wipe over my face. The toner is said to remove all the last traces of dirt and cleanser. Now I do not have a microscope in my bathroom cabinet- so I cannot confirm that the product works that well- I can only say the cotton wool seems to show that is has been effective and my skin feels far cleaner and fresher than when I don't use it.

The toner is alcohol free and ph balanced so that it works in harmony with your skin.

I personally think it is odourless, which is a good thing as Boots advise it is fragrance free.

I find it refreshing, hydrating and it does make my skin feel better.

The packaging declares that it is a little facial everyday. I think that is either an exaggeration or we are talking very very little - but as the 200ml is going to last me ages- I think that this toner is a welcome addition to my daily routine.

The best recommendation I can give it- is that I will be buying it again- and when you are watching your pennies- that is a recommendation you can trust.

Summary: Cleanse, TONE, Moisturise
