I am a great fan of Boots no7, but until a few months ago had never tried their gentle foaming face wash. I decided to give it a go simply because I had A £5 No7 skin care voucher to use and couldn't find anything else I needed.

The face wash comes in a blue plastic tube. It is nothing fancy to look at and if I hadn't had a voucher I would probably have overlooked it. The face wash itself has a strange jelly like consistency that I at first found intriguing The instructions for use are printed on the back of the tube. To apply squeeze a walnut sized amount into your hands and add water to create lather. It really does feel and react like soap although this product is in face soap free.

I much prefer using face washes to cleansing creams on my face as I feel I am actually cleaning my face as opposed to putting grease into my pores! After washing with the Boots face wash my face feels soft and fresh, with no hint of any dryness. With some face washes, namely simple face wash, my face has felt dry with red patches.

Boots foaming face wash is fragrance free although it does have a kind of soapy clean smell that I really like. Boots claim that this face wash will remove all traces of dirt and make up and on drying my face with a white towel after washing, I can confirm that there were no nasty make up makes visible on the towel.

On checking I see that this face wash contains provitamin B5, watercress and fennel. Provitamin B5 helps aid moisture retention whilst fennel helps draw out impurities. Watercress helps moisturise and calm the skin. I certainly find that this face wash leaves my skin feeling moisturised with no tightness.

Boots foaming face wash costs £7 for a 150ml tube, a hefty price tag in my book! However Boots usually have special offers on their skincare such as 3 for 2 deals. As you would expect this face wash is only available from Boots.

I use this face wash at least once a day and find the tube lasts me for about a month.

Overall I really like this face wash and find it leaves my face feeling clean with no dryness or red patches. It is easy to use and rinses off well. If I had to find a negative point it would have to be that hefty price tag!

Summary: A gentle face wash from Boots

The last time I wore make up was in a music theatre production and used Boots cucumber facial wash. Mind you this sounds like good one even though its a smidge expensive.
