Advantages: An improvement in the condition of skin
Disadvantages: It is quite expensive
I have been using the basic No.7 Protect and Perfect Beauty serum for some time (although I stopped for a little while), and was quite happy with the results of it. I was however quite excited when I heard that they were bringing out the "Intense" version as I imagined that it must be even better than the original.
The product is £19.50 for 30ml, contained within a glass bottle which has a white screw lid and a pump dispenser. The pump dispenser also has a little plastic protector to stop you accidentally squirting it when you don't want to. I heard a lady in the shop query as to why it was in a glass bottle when the original was in a plastic tube, as it was more difficult to get the last bit out of a bottle. The advisor says that the "give you a little bit extra" to compensate, but i'm not sure whether I believe this, and ideally, I would prefer the product in the same tube as the original, as for the price, you want to be able to get all of the product out of the container.
The cream itself is identical to the original formula. It is off white in colour and has a slightly watery creamy consistency. You need to apply the serum sparingly all over your face in the morning and at night, before you apply your moisturiser and it should help to improve your skins structure and condition.
This is the first No7 product to actually have the benefit of clinical trials before it was released. The test subjects found that after 4 weeks the appearance of lines and wrinkles was reduced by up to 50%. After 6 months of use, the skin was shown to rebuild and over time elasticity was improved and deep wrinkles were visibly reduced.
As I already used the previous Protect and Perfect, I don't think the initial improvements that No7 quotes were as obvious to me (they were when I first started using the brand), but over the last 3 weeks my skin has generally improved in appearance and my pores seem smaller and my wrinkles are fading. It is worth saying that I am also using their night cream and a No7 wrinkle lift product (see my other reviews) at the same time and it could be the culmination of all of the products.
I would say that if you haven't tried the product before, it is certainly worth giving it a go. Everyone I know that has tried one or the other of the serums has seen immediate and long lasting improvements.
The Intense serum is marketed at the over 30's and if you are under that, or only have very fine lines, No7 will recommend that you just try the basic serum rather than this one.
Summary: Definately worth using
