Advantages: Light and easily absorbed
Disadvantages: Quite pricey
I have used a night cream for some years now, and have tended to stay with the same brand (Garnier) as I can sometimes suffer with sensitive skin.
As I had recently began using the No7 Protect and Perfect range and had no adverse reactions to their serum, I decided that I would give their night cream a try.
The claims of the cream are that it helps your skin "get a restful night's sleep" and that it contains active ingredients to help deliver long lasting moisturisation and longer-term protection for the skin. The cream is meant to work by helping your skin recover from the day and also smoothing fine lines leaving skin healthy and glowing. It would also appear they would recommend using this cream alongside one of the serums.
The cream apparently contains "our patent pending next generation antioxidant complex, to protect against damaging effects of free radicals." I'm not entirely sure what this means but it certainly sounds impressive! Finally, the cream includes a skin-firming complex containing lipo-peptides to boost and maintain elasticity. In line with the rest of No7's products, it is hypo-allergenic and dermalogically tested
For £20.50 you get 50ml of cream in a small transparent glass pot with a green plastic screw lid. The pot feels quite substantial and weighty and it is easy to hold whilst applying the cream with your other hand.
I was fairly surprised at how light the cream was. My previous experience of night cream was quite a thick heavy cream and I assumed that this was a general thing. As the cream is so light and what I suppose you would call "refreshing", it applies very easily to your skin and you don't need a great deal of it. It also sinks in really well without leaving your skin feeling sticky.
As to the results, I have only been using it three weeks or so, at the same time as I started using the Protect and Perfect Intense Serum. I have however had lots of compliments recently on how healthy I am looking and whether I have been away as my skin is glowing, so maybe there is something in it.
I have noticed a reduction in my fine lines, and some of the "not so fine" lines, and although I cannot put it solely down to this product, the overall texture and appearance of my skin has improved.
Summary: A lighter kind of night cream
