It would take a lot to live up to its hype (Boots No.7 Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum)

Advantages: Not too expensive.

Disadvantages: Silicone texture may not be liked to everyone.

This product became famous after a television programme was able to reveal the scientific lab results with regards to the effectiveness of product. The results in this programme showed that there was a marked improvement between the sun-damaged skin prior to using this product and afterwards. Therefore on some skin types, it could be said that this product DOES work. However, I had used a full tube and it made no difference to my skin. That said, I do not have extreme levels of sun damaged skin and therefore, to be fair, it could be that I was merely a bad example to use this product on.
The product itself has a silicone type texture. I personally don't like this texture in general as it can have a tendancy to block pores and 'roll off' the skin if products are applied afterwards. So the texture is not a liquid type serum as you would expect. However, serums in general always go on the skin first, prior to moisturisers, as they are easily absorbed by the skin due to the fact that the job of the serum is not to moisturise but deliver ingredients into the skin that it needs to perform a certain job.

Therefore, this serum did not suit my skin type ( which is combination, prone to break outs. ) However, that said, I dislike the silicone type texture as a whole which goes against the product for me personally. That said, I'm sure others will love the texture and the results it gives.

Summary: I'm sure it's good, but it did nothing for my skin. I didn't particularly enjoy using it either.
