I got this when I had acute to mild acne... and it simply didn't work. I went into Boots to browse for a new product as I had finished my old Witch Hazel spot stick (which wasn't too effective, had a nice smell though), and found this. ~~~STICK DESIGN~~~ It was a simple design where there is a stick submerged in this solution which was meant to help clear spots... It had a nice blue translucent plastic on the outside... it looked quite small, so could be easy to lose... ~~~APPEARANCE~~~ The gel was transparent in colour and has a slightly thicker consistency to water. ~~~USING THE PRODUCT~~~ Using the product was extremely ... Despite apparently being an adult, I am still troubled by a problem I've had since my teenage years - the odd spot. Luckily, being quite freckly, other people can't really tell when I have a spot - but I can, and I find them irritating. I can't really spend time washing my face each morning and night with medicated face washes, since I already have products I like as part of my routine, so I decided to see if I could get something to just dab on the spots as and when they appeared . Not wanting to spend huge amounts of money on something that didn't work, I opted for Boot's own brand, the Skin Clear One Touch Spot Stick, which cost £2.93. The ... Read the complete review

Boots Skin Clear Spot Stick - clear skin in no time! It's a small bottle with a little dabby stick that works wonders. For around £3 you really wouldn't find anything better. Sadly it doesn't say anywhere on it what is in it which is a little bit worrying but whatever it is it works. It smells like alcohol and it's a clear gel but that's about all I can tell you. The bottle is functional - it's little and it has a dabby stick for easy application. It stings a bit when you put it on which is always a good sign and it usually doesn't take long at all for the spot to almost disappear. It seems to work by zapping it with alcohol ... I have struggled for years to find an effective product to blitz the spots that crop up from time to time. Spotting this in Boots, I decided to test this out as it was only around £3 (which seems to be an average price for spot zapping products). The product doesn't come in any type of box and only has minimal writing on the packaging. There are no real instructions as to how to use the gel (it simply says "Dab lightly onto spots")- presumably you just dab the gel onto the spot(s) using the stick/wand, but it isn't made especially clear how much product you should use for each spot. There is also no indication of what the gel contains, so it could ... Read the complete review

For the price of 3 pounds, you can't really expect a huge result, but saying that the Body Shop Tea Trea Oil Blemish Stick seems to work brilliantly for around the same price! I found the fact that it says very little about the actual product on the tube rather irritating. The product itself comes in a little blue tube, from which you can see the liquid inside- helpful to see when you needed to go and buy another (if you were planning to do so). Boots describe the product as 'An invisible gel that penetrates the pores to help clear spots. Non-comedogenic & anti bacterial'. The fact that it says so little about the properties that are going to do ... Read the complete review
