Advantages: Good price, works well, works quickly, pleasant to use
Disadvantages: None at all
I use Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel cleanser on my face every night. I have tried many others over the years but always come back to this one. I have written a review about it if you are interested.
Anyway a while ago I was in Boots and had a voucher for £1 off any item in the Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel range. When I looked the items were already on offer at 2 for £5 so I chose a bottle of my favourite cleanser and decided to try the Night Treatment Gel. The normal price of this gel is £2.93.
Since I have been eating healthily and losing weight my face has been covered with spots and at 54 I am a bit old for teenage spots! I assume that it is just my body getting rid of the toxins but it is a pain so I thought that I would give this gel a try.
The pale green gel comes in an opaque tube with a flip top lid. It has the Boots logo on the top and the words Tea Tree and Witch Hazel written vertically down the side - as with the rest of the range. The design of this range in pale blue and green makes everything look fresh, clean and appealing.
The details on the tube tell us that the gel 'works intensively while you sleep and helps prevent and fight spots'. I was really pleased to find this gel as, after being so impressed with the cleanser, I expected that this would be a real help to my sad looking skin.
Reading the back of the tube I also found that this gel was 'non greasy' which is really important for me as my skin tends to be slightly greasy anyway so I generally prefer a more astringent product. The information was that this would improve the skin by:
Working intensively while you sleep
Fighting spot-causing bacteria
Lightly moisturising and caring for your skin without blocking pores
The directions instruct you to blend it into your skin after cleansing each night before you go to bed.
Each night I cleanse my skin thoroughly; wash my hands to make sure that there is no dirt on them and then rub a very small amount of the gel into my skin.
It blends into my skin immediately leaving no residue and the feeling is really refreshing. After cleansing it is a lovely feeling on my skin before I get into bed. As with all the items in this range the fragrance is light, fresh, cool and not at all chemical.
I expected it to take a while before I noticed any difference to my skin, but I was pleasantly surprised to see a difference almost immediately. After a couple of days of use my skin was beginning to clear and the minor blemishes had all but gone.
After a couple of weeks use my skin had improved dramatically and yet again I am impressed with another item from the Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel range. So there you are - why pay a fortune for skin care when you can get excellent products at an excellent price?
Summary: Another excellent product from Boots!
