Advantages: cost, they work
Disadvantages: need to use them frequently
I use nose pore strips on a regular basis and after using the t-zone ones (£5 for 6 strips) I decided to see if I could find any cheaper ones elsewhere. I like Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel range so I decided to try these.
~ What are they? ~
The nose pore strips are designed to remove blackheads and dirt as well as tightening the pores to prevent future breakouts.
They come in box of 6 and each of the strips are individually wrapped. The strips are easy to open and are stuck on a piece of clear plastic. The strips need to be removed from this backing before use. I have never had any problems with opening or using the strips.
The box recommends that you don't use the strips any more frequently than every 3 days. I try to use them every 3 or 4 days, as I have found that they are most effective when used frequently.
~ How do they work? ~
After cleansing your face, thoroughly wet your nose, dry your hands and place the strip firmly across your nose. This only takes a few seconds, and then you leave the strip to dry for 10-15 minutes. As the strip dries, you can feel it getting tighter on your nose. This doesn't hurt and isn't uncomfortable.
After the strip has dried, gently peel it off. This hurts a little bit but only really feels like you are removing a plaster. On examining the strip, I can usually see what it has removed from my nose. There is always more on the strip if I haven't used one in a while. After using one of the strips, my nose does look clearer but it doesn't look perfect and often looks almost the same by the next day. The more I use them though, the clearer my nose stays.
The strip leaves a small amount of residue on the nose but this washes off easily with some warm water. My nose always feels smoother after using these strips.
~ How much do they cost? ~
I believe they are £3.49 for 6 strips but are often in the 2 for £5 range. I usually only buy them when this offer is on as I think £5 for 12 strips is good value for money. Also, if you have a boots advantage card you can earn 4p per pound.
~ Advantages ~
· Cost
· Work quite well
· Easy to use
~ Disadvantages ~
· Doesn't seem to tighten to pores so need to use them frequently to remove the blackheads
· Doesn't remove all the blackheads
~ Overall ~
I think this is a good product and I will continue to use them. They are not perfect and do need to be used frequently in order to work most effectively. I think they are just as good as, if not better than the T-zone strips that I have previously used and they are almost have the price. I would now consider myself to be quite loyal to this brand and I will continue to use them, even though they're not perfect.
Thanks for reading! xx
Summary: A good product
