Advantages: Clean and Clear Skin!
Disadvantages: A little more expensive than other scrubs available
This daily scrub is from Johnson and Johnson. I'm not particularly spotty but I use to have some random dry patches of skin on my face. I found that using a facial scrub removed any dry skin and traces of make up and left my skin smooth when I moisturized.
I initially picked the Clean and Clear up because it was on offer in my local supermarket and I thought it might be worth a try. The bottle claimed that the micro beads would clear away dead cells, unclog pores, help clear them from impurities and prevent blackheads from forming. Wow - clever little micro-beads!
Application
In terms of packaging the scrub comes in a squeezy tube (like a big tube of toothpaste). This means that you can access the amount that you want quite easily. It also means that there is less chance of spillages and less chance of the top of the tube getting all clogged up.
The instructions on the back were very simple and it recommends that you use the lotion twice daily - morning and afternoon - which fitted in with my daily routine. The product is a thick white cream which has small dark coloured micro beads through it. These are the 'wonder' ingredient and it is their job to peel away the dead cells and to unclog the pores.
You basically apply to a wet face ad gently massage and then rinse thoroughly. I found the smell to be quite pleasant - almost difficult to describe - just smells soapy. I found that the cream wasn't too grainy on my skin and I found that it rubbed in very easily. It also did leave me feeling incredibly fresh and my cheeks felt all tingly which was a very pleasant sensation!
Results
I was really, really pleased with the results! I think using in the evening in particular ensured that the product got rid of any traces of make up that I may have missed.
I normally have quite sensitive skin and I found that the product didn't irritate me at all. Overall I noticed fewer blackheads and I have found that the appearance of my skin has visibly improved.
Conclusion
I bought this at the local supermarket whilst it was on special offer. It normally costs approx £3.20 for a 150ml bottle - which is a bit more than a lot of facial scrubs which are available. However I have been so pleased with the results that I think it's worth the extra!
Summary: Not a blackhead in sight!
