Advantages: lovely smooth clean skin

Disadvantages: getting all the granules off

Clean & Clear is a product of Johnson and Johnson who have been producing products since the 1880s when they were the first to introduce surgical dressings that were ready made and ready to use. They have certainly come a long way since those early days on from the early Band Aids which are still going strong today, and baby products to the latest collections of skincare from not only Clean & Clear but from Neutrogena and RoC.

The Clean & Clear range offer a fantastic range of skin care products from cleansing to moisturising both face and body.

I bought this 150ml squeezy tube for £2.40 from Tesco which I thought was quite reasonable for a face wash as some can be pretty pricey. I wanted to try the exfoliating wash as I find that I sometimes get dry patches which are left flaky although I can also have sensitive skin so I am a bit wary of the granules causing irritation. I had no need to worry with this product.

For anyone not familiar with the term, exfoliating products remove grime and dead skin by the use of granules which rub these off gently to leave the skin smooth and sometimes these can be pretty rough - a bit like sandpaper. Not so with this one which uses Micro-granules which are more gentle. It helps to clean up your pores and of course this reduces the chance of getting dreaded spots. I've always been thankful in the fact that I've never really been bothered with spots but for people not so lucky there is also an anti-bacterial factor used in this face wash to help fight the problems which cause bacteria and more spots.

It's very easy to use this product and you don't need to use a lot at a time so it lasts quite a long time. You need to apply it to your already wet face and massage it on to create a lather which you then simply rinse off. I was amazed at how soft it left my skin and have had no flaky patches or irritations since I started using it around a year ago.

The ingredients are as follows:-

Aqua, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polyethylene, Disodium Lauroamphodiacetate, Peg-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Lauryl Methyl Gluceth - 19 Hydroxypropyldimonium Chloride, Glycol Distearate, Hamamelis Virginiana, Farnesol, Glycerin, Laureth-4, Sodium Carbomer, Sodium Benzoate, Tetrasodium Edta, Methylparaben, Lactic Acid and Parfum.

I am happy to recommend this product as I have been a trusting customer of Johnson and Johnson for many years as my children grew up and we've always used the Johnsons baby product range - not just on the kids but on me too - which are brilliant value. So if you are looking for something different to try why not try this.

Summary: does what it says on the tube

Alas, as someone lucky enough to not really get many spots, you can't really say if this is all that effective then?
