Advantages: clear skin, fresh feeling
Disadvantages: can hurt sensitive skin
Clearasil Medicated Lotion When it comes to make-up and such, I must admit I?m a bit of a slut. I use 2/3 different products at once, I alternate my favourite ones, I switch forward and back, and I?m willing to give anything a try. I am not particularly loyal. But there are two facial cleansers, which are a regular part of my routine. Either/ or suit me just fine. Those two products are: Oxy Pads, and Clearasil Lotion. Obviously I don?t use both at once, but depending on what?s available at the time, I find them equally as good. This opinion is regarding ?Clearasil Pore Cleansing Lotion,? but I strongly recommend Oxy too. +++ The Official Line +++ ?Bacteria and oil build up every day and can cause spots, so t beat them, Clearasil Pore Cleansing Lotion combats both. Its special clinically proven formula deep cleans to leave your skin noticeably clean, toned and refreshed.? I agree whole-heartedly with the blurb: On applying this lotion my skin tingles with cleanliness. +++ How to Apply +++ Soak a piece of cotton wool in the lotion, then wipe your face gently. Do not rub of- leave the lotion to perform its miracles while you go about your normal routine. There is a warning on the bottle that the lotion may not be suitable for dry skin. This is true. The lotion can sting dry patches on your face, although as my face tends to be quite oily, the lotion is perfect for me. +++ What does it contain? +++ As I have sensitive skin, I always need to check what facial lotions contain. Clearasil?s ingredients are: Aqua, Alcohol Denat, Myrtrimonium Bromide, Ceteareth-12, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Sodium Cholride, Allantoin, Parfum, Chlorhexidine, Digluconate, Tartaric Acid, CI 42051. Those of us who are used to studying ingredients lists, can usually tell what a lotion will feel like when used. As you might imagine, it is quite acidic. And if your skin is having a bad day, or when used on
delicate areas, like around the eyes, you may find that it burns. My advice would be to bear through it- I don?t find my skin to be ?damaged? or red in anyway after these experiences. +++ Smell and Colour +++ The lotion is blue. Very vividly blue. It?s darker blue for the non-sensitive skin lotion, and the colour difference is very distinctive. The scent of the lotion is in my opinion quite strong. It smells so clean, you?d almost assume there was bleach in it! The ?soapy? scent has a rather chemically undertone. But I don?t personally find this offensive. Quite the opposite; I feel as if my skin is getting an amazing clean. There is 150 ml in the small bottle. +++ My Opinion +++ Even when you think your face is spotlessly clean, you will be bowled over by the grime that one little piece of cotton wool will show you. After seeing the cotton wool, I feel as if my face is spotless, and I rest easy knowing I?ve zapped all the problem oil. Clearasil is not for everyone though- and those who suffer from full-blown acne will not see the results that they might be led to believe they will get. If you have mildly greasy skin, prone to the odd pimple, then by all means this may be the product for you! It is rather expensive, as a bottle doesn?t last that long. (£3.29 in my local chemist.) I don?t use this product twice a day as the bottle suggests, as I believe it is too harsh for that, but before bed at night, it is perfect. I think I?ve said all I can say about this little bottle!
