Advantages: non-drying easy to use
Disadvantages: expensive
The other day a free sample of this product dropped into my mailbox. "Lucky me" I thought. I?ve seen a good few of the adverts on the television and was eager to try them for myself. On the pack it claims to remove dirt oil and long lasting make-up. It contains ¼ moisturising cream, and vitamins A&E.These cloths can be used in place of your normal facial cleaning regime including cleanser, make-up remover, exfoliator or toner. What you get is a thin little rectangular white textured cloth (about 7x6 inches) that you simply moisten in water to release the lather and then 'cleanse with massaging movements' (or wash with it, to you and me). You then just rinse your face with water and throw the cloth away, easy peasy. You even get a step-by-step picture guide to help you. So I gave it a go after a night out and face full of make-up to see if it really did live up to its claim -and price! More on the price later. I moistened it with water and set about washing my make-up off. The lather is really rich and creamy and very generous and it smells just like all the other Dove products that have flooded the market in recent years, it's a lovely just-bathed-baby smell I think. Anyway it did the job perfectly and after rinsing and drying, my skin did feel lovely and soft, not a hint of dry tightness like some soaps and cleansers leave you feeling. I liked the cloths quite a lot, so I thought I'd have a look on the Boots website (absolutely no chance of finding them at the shop in the village) to see how much they were. I was stunned to find they are a whopping £5.49 for a pack of 30! This means that each wash will cost you approximately 18.3p unless you buy the refill pack at £4.49 then it will only cost you 15p each. Having said all that, they do lather up so well, that you could probably cut each cloth in half, get twice the use out of them and they would then cost 9p each or 7 ½
p each if you were to buy the refill. They also do a range for sensitive skin, but they can keep them, I'll be sticking with a bar of Dove soap and a flannel, I can wash off my make-up for a fraction of the price! I can only give them three stars, becuase although I liked it,I think the price is ridiculously expensive!
