Advantages: Reasonable price and easy enough to apply.

Disadvantages: The smell isn't as nice as other Dove products and it's a bit too greasy for me.

The one thing I don't do as much as I should is moisturise my skin. Not because it's not something I don't own.... I do! I own so much but it's that A) I use such good bath and shower products I don't really need it and B) it's too cold to go slapping lotions all over my body in this weather. So I tend to buy something and use it once and then forget all about it.

However I am trying to do it a bit more since I'm getting older and I do get dry skin from time to time and I know that even though I use decent bath and shower products I can get heavenly skin by using other stuff too!

So, I love Dove products and own alot of them so when I saw this Rich Moisturising Creme for £1.29 a tub and I hadn't tried it before from Wilkinson's on offer I just had to buy and try it.

Full name of the product.... Dove Rich Moisturising Creme.

The Packaging:

It's a round, recyclable tub. It's plastic and it's size is 150ml. The top of the tub (lid) is white with dark blue writing on it telling me it's Dove and that it is indeed rich moisturising creme and the gold Dove that all the Dove products have them embellishes the front. The base of the tub is dark blue with a white label on it that tells me why is is beneficial, ingredients, and contact details for Unilever (the manufacturers of Dove) are given. The lid twists on and off easily.

Why It's Good:

Dove rich moisturising creme - for complete daily skin care. Dove rich moisturising creme offers extra rich and pampering moisturisation. It combines nourishing ingredients and a generous dose of active moisturiser.

Dove Rich Moisturising Creme - for soft and cared for skin.
Especially suitable for very dry skin areas.

Using It:

Well when I use a moisturiser I like to apply it everywhere, I like to smell the same all over cosI'm so fussy! The rich, white smooth cream rubs in very easily and spreads very well indeed.

The smell is not like the other Dove products in the blue packaging to my nostrils and this smells much lighter, not as rich and highly fragranced at all. It is similar though don't get me wrong just not as much as other Dove products. A little of this doesn't go a long way either. Skin drinks it and absorbs it quickly so I kept having to add more and rub it in to get fully covered.

I don't have a huge body (honest!) and I seemed to use half a pot of this to cover myself! When I had applied it skin felt slightly clammy and I did feel a bit greasy too. I did dry (eventually) but the clamminess stayed with me for a couple of hours. However I had the time to spend on drying before dressing so I didn't get it on my clothes, luckily.

Skin did feel hydrated and smooth and comfortable once dried but not overly so, it just felt normal and nothing special.

Getting this off was a bit of a pain in the a**. I shower or bath everyday and I use good bath and body products and normally I rinse off any remnants of body lotions easily the day after using them. This I found made my shower gel ineffective. I couldn't lather up and get it off it sort of stopped my shower gel in it's tracks and I felt it was due to this lotion so I spent ages in the shower rubbing myself and it took ages for my shower gel to act as normal and rinse it off properly and even then I felt slightly tacky and not so clean as usual.

Overall:

It's not bad but at a higher price certainly isn't as economical as other body lotions and gels I use. The smell isn't as great as I'd like it to be and making sure it came off was a real pain in the bum. Skin overall felt not alot smoother when applied but this isn't bad, it's just middle of the road moisturiser. I have applied it since the application I'm describing, just to the areas I felt I needed it over the past week and haven't seen or felt any results...yet?

It says it's for people with dry skin. I feel that statement is true as for the grease content within it. Personally when I use it again I will use it as and where required as it seems more of a treatment cream than an all over body moisturiser!

£2.29 per tub in Boots and Superdrug but sold in a variety of places.

This review can also be seen on Ciao under this same name.

Summary: Not so great for me and I do have dry skin!

I was not too keen on this either, I had a free sample and used most of that but would not buy it again.
