Everyone knows that I hate the winter, primarily not really for the weather but the fact that I hate that I revert back to a paler complexion. Don't get me wrong I am not a sun worshiper I don't sit out sun bathing at every opportunity and am very careful when it comes to sun exposure, always wearing a sunscreen and not over exposing my skin. I don't want to look old before my time so try to look after my skin. I don't use sun beds as in my opinion they are just as bad as sitting out in the sun if not worse. If that is your way of doing it that is your choice but I will never come around to it. I also don't tend to use fake tans, as whenever I have ... Read the complete review

This is a facial moisturiser that builds up a tan slowly as you use it. I like this as it is subtle - it gives you a hint of colour, which is great for this time of year, before people have had a chance to go away or seen much of the sun. I have the fair to medium skin version. I like the fact that it's subtle as my face tends to be a bit darker than my body (in particular my neck and shoulders) so if I use a heavy tan on my face I look a bit bizarre! I actually really like the smell of this, which I wasn't expecting to as Dove products tend to be quite plainly scented. I think it's the self-tanning agent in it as I like the smell of my body tan too! But it's ... Read the complete review

I am pale, fair skinned and generally a bit peely-wally looking. Add into the mix tiredness from working long hours and stress from looking after my extremely naughty little six year old son and I'm afraid the term pale complexion is not a fitting enough description. Aluminous maybe, milk bottle white, or as my mother in law calls me pasty-faced. (Pronounced pay stay) not pastie as in the savoury treat!!! I actually was getting so fed up being constantly asked if I felt all right at work that I decided to do something about it. Well my track record with using fake tan has certainly not been a joyous experience over the years so you would think that I should ... Read the complete review

I'll let you in on a secret - I have ginger genes. My dad, when he had hair, was a bit of a carrot top . I inherited my mums thick dark hair, but what I did inherit from my dad was a tendancy to burn rather than tan, and a lot of freckles. Now, I don't really mind this - I get bored lying about on a towel, I much prefer to be active and moving about, so being a beach bunny is not for me . However, with naturally pale skin, I do look a little bit pasty and ill at times, so I need a little assistance. Now, I've tried full on fake tan and ended up streaky . I've tried bronzing pearls and ended up looking -- well, strange, for want of a better word ... Read the complete review

Although my hair is naturally dark, my eyes are blue, resulting in a very fair complexion and until I started having blond highlights people were always asking if I felt okay as I looked so pale. This does have it's advantages, when donating blood I was usually left on the bed a few minutes longer and given extra biscuits as the staff were worried I might faint! Anyhow, after signing up to a Dorothy Perkins store card recently the sales assistant kindly popped a few freebies into my bag, one of which was a bottle of Dove Summer Glow facial moisturiser the light shade for fair to medium skin. I haven't used self tanning products for a few years and never on ... Read the complete review
