Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules - Anti ageing

Elemis the company was founded in 1989. It actually came about by them identifying a gap in the spa and salon industry for a company that could provide a comprehensive service orientated range of advanced skin and body care, combined with a dynamic treatment offering. Now, according to their website, Elemis is the leading luxury British spa and skincare brand favoured by over 5.7 million spa-goers every year.

Before I had even tried any of their products, Elemis always appeared to me to be a luxury product that was probably a bit more expensive than I was willing to pay. The packaging always looked very up-market and salon like and I had heard about their scientific formulations that must have cost a lot to produce. Since this product was free though I decided I couldn't grumble and decided to give it a go.

These Elemis Skin Bliss capsules are said to help repair the visible signs of ageing and counteract the damaging effect of pollution. So, what exactly are they though? They are basically an oil, contained in a tiny little capsule. To me they basically look like a tiny little rubber bottle. The top of it snaps off when you twist it to reveal the oil liquid inside. It looks exactly like cooking oil and has that same consistency as well. Each capsule is only 0.21ml so you only get a tiny amount in each one. When the liquid comes out into your hands it is probably about a pea size amount.

The capsules are said to have 1700% more anti-oxidant power than other cosmetic oils and they are supposed to balance and repair stressed skin and restore a youthful bloom. Once you have twisted the top off and let the oil come out onto your hands they do advise you to warm the oil between the palm of your hands and then apply to a cleansed face and neck. Even though there is not much liquid I do find that there is definitely enough to be able to spread all over your face which is nice. The oil goes on quite smoothly and surprisingly enough it does not make your face feel oily or greasy in anyway. I really though it would have the opposite effect so I was pleasantly surprised. After I applied it my face felt like it was super moisturised and almost like it had a barrier on it against all the nasty stuff in the air. When I applied it in the morning I felt like I could go out with no make up on but have a really well looked after face. It does say on the Elemis website that it counteracts the damaging effects of pollution by sweeping clean your network of skin cells, ridding it of harmful toxins and this really did feel like it worked exactly like it says on my face.

The capsules come in two different varieties. There is a pink rose capsule that you use in the morning and a green lavender one that you use at night. They both smell just like rose and lavender which is quite pleasant but not overpowering because you can smell that fragrance on your face for a little while afterwards. I was not able to figure out though why they had a fragrance and if they did something different or why you were meant to use one fragrance in the morning and on in the evening but oh well.

The capsules contain pure Moringa Oil from the Tanzanian "Miracle Tree" which has unique anti-ageing properties and will dramatically renew skin elasticity and skin youthfulness. I think this is definitely a bold statement but I can see how these capsules would do that for your skin. I do think though that you probably need to use the capsules frequently and not once in a while to achieve a renewed skin.

Like I said the packaging is very spa like. The capsules come in a heavy frosted glass tub with a screw on lid. An E logo for Elemis is printed on the top of the tub and then the product name is written on the front. The tub I had contained 14 of the capsules, 7 of each but you can buy a tub that has 60 capsules in it. 60 capsules, which if you use two every day, morning and evening will be a one months supply costs £58.
