:: INTRODUCTION ::

I've been using Elemis Booster Facials done in their salons for the past two years on a monthly / two monthly basis. I have combination skin which means black spots (oxidised pores full of bacteria) and greasy areas are centred on and around my nose and chin but the rest of the face tend to be dry and in sometimes even red dry and patched especially on the cheeks. I also have sensitive skin due to an apparently very common allergy to nickel and to some extent chrome which meant I also had to be very selective about my beauty regime. My Elemis therapist recommended these Bliss Capsules to combat all the above problems.

:: PACKAGING ::

As most Elemis products it comes in a simple but elegant white packaging that has the silver embossed logo and product name written on it. The Bliss Capsules looks just like a classic pot of cream but inside you'll actually find two compartments that contain two types of capsules with a teardrop-shaped rubbery coat in either pink or green colour.

:: APPEARANCE AND APPLICATION ::

The capsules are to be used on cleansed skin. Tear open the capsule and you'll find about 1ml of blended oil inside. Spread the oil over your face inclduing the eye area gently massaging with your fingertips. Both types of capsules contain pure moringa oil which is a type of 'dry oil' meaning it is absorbed very quickly and won't leave an oily residue.

Moringa oil comes from the Miracle Tree in Tanzania and is known for its anti-ageing properties. Unrefined moringa oil has a strong, earthy smell that I cannot detect here. The benefits of moringa oil are enhancing skin elasticity and giving it youthful radiance.

Rose absolute is used in the pink capsules that you're meant to use in the morning before putting on your day cream. Rose oil is renowned for its hydrating properties and is used extensively in cosmetics.

Lavender essential oil is used in the green capsules to apply at night before applying your night cream. Lavender oil has anti-bacterial and oil balancing properties and it also calms reactive, sensitive skin.

:: RESULTS ::

I bought the one month's supply of 2 x 30 Bliss Capsules tub at a cost of £58 and used it twice daily during the end of year nearing Christmas and partly in January too. I had basically used them up in time for my next Elemis facial. A few days after starting the treatment I could already feel the difference in not having to fear the usual daily flare-up or red patches on my skin which was always at its worst in winter. My skin felt more elastic and hydrated too.

All is well, however the biggest surprise came when my therapist showed me the results of the skin lab when I turned up for the facial. Basically the skin lab is a UV photo of your skin that shows different aspects of your skin: pores, texture, UV exposure, wrinkles, dehydration, etc. The images showed an almost total elimination of bacteria from around the nose and chin area and the pores appeared a lot smaller too. Overall skin texture also improved. What I saw was signs of a calmed, reaction-free and hydrated complexion.

:: CONCLUSION ::

What amazed me about the capsules is that the improvements on my skin were visible in as little as four weeks. This means that by completing the 30-day course you'll have detoxified and improved skin. The capsules did an excellent job on reducing redness and sensitivity on my cheeks and eliminating blackheads and bacteria in the congested nose and chin area. I've never used a product that could do that alone and in such a short time.

:: PRICE AND AVAILABILITY ::

Available in Elemis salons, department stores and online but it is expensive. I only bought the first 60 capsules from the salon then I went on Ebay and got it for half price what was essentially a refill pack meaning I received 2 x 30 capsules without the container. I do recommend you buying this way.
