I have sensitive dry skin so have to be very careful about what products I use. When it comes to cleansing my face I really like to use water as I feel I have actually washed, unlike when I use cleansing creams! I have tried several products that claim to be for sensitive skins over the years but have found many of these leave my skin feeling dry and tight at best and sometimes I have been left with a red irritated skin. I was given a bottle of Elemis sensitive cleansing wash by a close friend who also has sensitive skin and finds this perfect for her skin.

Elemis sensitive cleansing wash is not cheap. It retails for around £18 for a 200 ml bottle, although it is worth shopping around as prices vary. It is available from many beauty salons or from John Lewis. So is it worth the cost?

Elemis sensitive cleansing skin wash comes in a clear plastic bottle with a pump action dispenser. I really like the bottle with its classy silver ring around its neck. The pump action nozzle works well and only gives you a little of the wash at a time. The wash itself is an amber colour and fairly thick.

To use you simple pump a small amount (one pump will give you the right amount) into your hand and ad warm water. Then use as you would soap. The wash lathers really well and rinses off easily. The wash has a very pleasant subtle scent that I find difficult to describe.

The best thing about this wash is that it doesn't make my skin feel dry or tight. On looking on the back of the bottle I see that the wash contains Tyme, German Chamomile and Lady's mantle. All these ingredients are known to have anti bacterial and soothing properties. The wash also has a unique milk protein base.

I have been using this wash every day for several months now. I only use it to wash my face but it can be used in place of soap for general washing. It is expensive but a little goes a long way and it should last for ages.

If, like me, you have sensitive skin, then this could be the perfect wash for you! I would highly recommend it!

Summary: sensitive skin wash

Much, much too expensive for me. I will stick to my usual for now. Great review though.
