They still haven't cleared up properly and it's over a month since I stopped using the product, but it caused so many spots to appear, that hasn't really suprised me. I knew it was going to take ages for them to heal. My beautician told me that exfoliators can sometimes have this effect on certain oily skin types as the exfoliating action actually irritates the sebaceous glands causing them to produce more sebum (oil) and thus causing spots. However, I have used othe...more

Premium Review Elemis Skin Buff: Hated it, hated it, hated it. With a vengence (191 words)

First off, these sorts of products really depend on your skin type. Mine is combination with a slightly oily t-zone and a fair complexion with the odd breakout. My skin hated this product with a vengence. It caused severe breakouts accross my forehead and chin, with even the odd blemish on my cheeks which I have never had happen before, even as a teenager! They still haven't cleared up properly and it's over a month since I stopped using the product, but it caused so many spots to appear, that hasn't really suprised me. I absolutley love this product. I first tried it in a travel kit from Elemis. I had been searching for a decent exfoliator for ages and found them either too harsh or way too gentle. This has a creamy texture, with a very fine grainy feel. It is grainy enough so that you can fell it exfoliating, but not gentle enough so that it doesnt do anything. My skin positively glows after using this, and I would never be without it! IT smells good too! ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Elemis Skin Buff: Seriously effective (444 words)

Rating:

Exfoliators can be one of the most instantly effective beauty treatments, as well as having long term benefits (if you follow-up with the right treatments). The choice of which is best to use can be daunting, but if you're looking for a good, effective, quality product but with no frills, then this one from Elemis could well fit the bill. Its unisex packaging and smell, as well as the consistency, mean this is also just right for men. Men's skin needs an exfoliator that's not too gentle, as their skin tends to be more coarse, but it mustn't be harsh either because any horrid ingredients can easily exacerbate nasties like shaving rash. ...  Read the complete review
