Advantages: Easy to apply and works immediately
Disadvantages: Expensive- but does last a long time.
I bought this product more for my teenage daughter rather than me if Im honest, she was suffering from the usual" hormone induced spots".
Some one had told her toothpaste was a good remedy for spots, I was not only sick of seeing her lovely face covered regularly in toothpaste, it also worried me greatly what the toothpaste was doing to her skin(since it's actually designed to clean teeth). I imagined it burning her skin.
Off I set to investigate - What did I need?-
Get rid of spots-QUICK- Yes as we all know teenagers are not the most patient people especially girls, when image is everything.
Must be able to use under make-up( God forbid I expect her to go without her foundation which lets face it would be a brilliant way to help get rid of spots! What do I know Im only her Mum?)
As Natural a product as possible( bearing in mind that they can take a little longer to work properly as they stop the problem rather than "mask" the symptom's). Not too strong a content of pure tea tree oil which can be far too harsh (depending on its strength, quality and what its blended with).
I went into SPACE.NK. apothecary to investigate "spot zappers".
Given a selection of products to peruse by a very helpful young sales assistant, I was drawn immediately to Eve Lom, Dynaspot.
I had never used any Eve Lom products before but had heard of her cult cleanser, I think any one who reads magazines and newspapers, has heard of her cleanser, I quote Vogue- "probably the best cleanser in the world".
Coupled with the fact Eve Lom is one of the most respected and well known beauty professionals around the world.
The packaging attracted me simple, clean but classy which back's up Eve's principal- "Less is more with effective skincare".
It comes in a white 10ml tube with a white screw top which you are advised to make sure is always closed tightly when not in use, so the cream does not dry out. It has a neat white box and both box and tube have silver writing.
It states- Emergency for breakouts, clears spots FAST yes, the magic word FAST!
The instructions-
Cleanse. Dab a small amount on to the offending spots and allow to dry, which it did almost immediately. Brush off the excess gently, the vital ingredients will be absorbed straightaway. Apply as often as needed.
Close lid tightly.
Its tinted for your skin, and so can be used over or under make up.
It's designed with a slant at the end of the neck and a tiny hole to enable precise and hygienic application.
So far so good. Whats the Main Ingredients?-
Calamine - Protects and absorbs excess sebum(oil) you can smell a slight trace of calamine in the cream, which I think gives it a "clean" smell. I've never seen calamine used for spots, but when you think what it does to chicken pox no wonder it's great to dry out spots.
Mistletoe & Fennel- Both reduce redness.
Tea Tree & Yarrow- Both with antiseptic and astringent properties.
Zinc Oxide- Controls excess sebum.
Cammomile & Balm Mint Extract- Both soothe inflammation.
Salicylic Acid- Penetrates the skin and increases healing.
Mineral oil (paraffinium liquidum)- It is believed it can hamper the skins
ability to retain moisture and so lead to dryness.
I usually avoid this ingredient, but as the product isn't used continually and is only used in a tiny area at a time, I was prepared to give it a go.
Sold. It's available on-line and from SPACE.NK.apothecary and John Lewis.
Cost approx £17.00.
Before you fall off your chair at the price this little tube lasted us (both) approx 3 years.
It worked amazingly well and very quickly, some spots can be banished over night if applied as soon as they appear.
Less is the word of the day, don't put too much on or it can dry the spot and skin around it out.
Thank You for taking the time to read my review hope it helps someone
Summary: Fabulous spot zapper that zaps in record time.
