Eve Lom Rescue Masque

The first thing I noticed about this mask is the smell - I think it's a mix of leaf mulch and Vics chest rub. The second thing I noticed is that you really have to shake it before you use it otherwise you just get a handful of water. (Somehow I keep forgetting this part!) The texture is of a thin clay mask with lumpy bits - it's really not attractive or luxurious. It's pretty economical though as you only need a thin layer. Then again, at this price it needs to be! Eve Lom is my hero. The cleanser's great, the moisturiser's fine, and this is seriously good stuff. It's not drying, it's not irritating, but if it's 'the time of month' or thereabouts this is a spectacularly effective product. I find that using the range decreases the frequency, severity, and life of spots anyway, but this really is a Rescue mask, SOS style. Apply it evenly over the face, leave for 15-20 minutes, it will dry in parts but this is ok. I opted to buy a travel pack of Eve Lom primarily so I could try the cleanser without forking out £50 This mask was part of the travel pack. I do like to try out masks when having a bath so was quite excited at trying something new. So, got in the bath, reached for the tube & squashed out some mask; well out came some liquid. I am always a bit hesitant about trying facail masks as they always make my skin sting and I have to wash them off immediately so I was not expecting a miracle from Eve Lom. The recue masque has a very strong smell so I was worried it would irritate my skin so I almost gritted my teeth upon application. I was pleasantly suprised, it did not sting or irritate. The clay like texture is easy to apply, it is quite a thick paste so it does not drip while applying. I tried a sample of this facial mask, along with the famous Eve Lom cleanser. Both have recently been rated No. 1 in their categories by the 2glow.com website. The mask was a winner for me, the cleanser wasn't. It's easy to use, but does have a bit of menthol and eucalyptus--sensitive skins be careful! I leave it on for twenty minutes or so, then I use the muslin cloth the company makes to remove it (they don't mention this in the instructions, but it really makes my skin glow doing it this way). afterwards, I'm left with extremely smooth skin.
