Advantages: Long lasting, not too expensive, a multi-use product

Disadvantages: Doesn't sit well on dry skin

I'd read HannahFelicity's review on this cream before walking past a shelf in Superdrug with it prominently displayed along with other Eyeko cosmetics. I have to admit that I would never have picked this up if I hadn't read her review beforehand because to me it screams 'I'm perfect for your 12 year old niece!'. The box is VERY pink and in fact the whole range was tacky in the same kind of way.

What The Packaging Looks Like:

Well it's *pink*, and it has a cartoon character on it which I am guessing is a kind of Manga inspiration but a very pink version. The box loudly proclaims 'Feel The Glow' on one side of the box, 'Create a flawless base' on another, it also tells you that it's 3in1 (Eye cream, moisturiser and highlighter) and gives a little blurb on the it saying:

'Infused with skin perfecting light reflectors and antioxidant Vitamins A + E + Vitamin C for a radiant complexion.'

The cream comes in a simple pink (less tacky than the box thankfully) round tub with silver writing on it, that fits nicely in the palm of your hand, contains 38ml, and has the 6m mark on the base that means once opened you should only use it for that long. I doubt I'll use it all up in that time as there seems to be quite a bit in it and a little goes a long way, so the 6 month thing is a slight downer. There's a pull up plastic lid inside the screw cap which I assume keeps the cream fresh.

It is made in Taiwan, and the box lists the ingredients which are:

Aqua (water), Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Cyclomethicone, Jojoba Esters, Dimethicone, Clyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Magnesium Aluminium Ailica, Triethanolamine, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Ascorbyl Palmitate (vitamin A), Retinol Palmitate (vitamin c), Tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), Butylated Hydroxyanisole.
May Contain:
Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide Red, Carmine.

So it's not great that it contains Parabens and means that will instantly make it a no-no to those who avoid parabens in their cosmetics and bodycare. It makes me personally dubious about it but the curiosity is strong with this one!

First Impressions:

I admit I was intrigued, I like skin reflecting particles and quickly tried out the sample. It was again, very pink (they also had a tinted one next to it but I didn't try that one) and I could see the particles shimmering immediately. A quick rub on the back of one hand and I was wowed by the amount of sparkle it had, there was definitely a nice glow but I couldn't feel it moisturising my hand in any way so I doubt it's suitable as a moisturiser to those of us with dry skin. However it sunk in quickly and I had a feeling it'd look good underneath foundation and used as a highlighter so I took it to the till and handed over £4.99 for it.

Trying It Out:

Firstly I tried it the night I got it home after removing my make up, cleansing and toning, and my face certainly did glow! I'm really not sure I could wear this alone all over my face as it makes me look like I'm about to go for an audition in a Twilight movie (the vampires glow and sparkle in sunlight). It soaked into my skin easily, and reminded me of the Boots Botanics Radiance Moisturiser I used to use (don't think they sell it any more *sob*) but much more glowy. It might work nicely mixed with your usual moisturiser if you just want a bit of irridescene on your face but not as much as it gives.

It didn't feel tight around my eyes which is a huge bonus as I hate it when that happens but I was somewhat aware of it on my skin, although my skin always feel a bit tight after cleansing and toning due to my skin

Anyway I actually slept in it - I didn't mean to, just totally forgot it was on my face and went to bed half asleep after browsing blogs on the computer. In the morning I realised my face was still shimmering like a very shimmery thing. I'd have thought it would've rubbed on my pillows as I am one of those people who buries her face in the pillow and constantly tries to find the cold side of pillow all night long!

Next time I used the cream was when I was in a rush to get the kids to school, I quickly put on some mascara and smoothed a little of this onto my cheeks to draw them out (make me look like I have cheekbones in other words hehe), a slight line down my nose to elongate my face and highlighted just underneath my eyebrows and just above. It looked fairly good, and held up all day long which was a bonus but I did notice that it clogged on a dry patch and made it look odd so maybe not good when my skin is having an off day.

Again I tried using the cream in a different way, underneath my foundation and I have to say that this is the best way I liked it. I applied it all over after my moisturiser had soaked in, letting it dry which really took only around a minute or two (I used those minutes to apply my mascara), before putting on my foundation with a brush.

At first I wasn't all that impressed, but it seems to have formed a pretty good base for my foundation as it held up even better than normal, and even managed to give it more of a matte appearance. The shimmer only just shows through the foundation, the light reflecting particles drawing attention away from my milia (the bane of my life!), and I was thoroughly impressed 8 hours after first using it.

My Final Thoughts On The Cream:

It's not the best fiver I've ever spent, mainly because I can't see me using it all the time and I definitely won't use such a big tub up within six months which means I'll be wasting some and I hate to waste stuff.

I've found there while it makes a good base underneath my liquid foundation, if my skin is drier than usual it makes my foundation look awful. I have used this for a few weeks now, and the best way I like to use it is as a highlighter on my cheekbones. I contour and use blusher in my normal way and then dip a fingertip to get just a smidgen of this onto my cheeks where I blend it right at the top of my cheekbones to help me appear to have good cheekbones (I don't, I have a round face).

I won't buy this again myself unless I find some miraculous use for it between now and it needing to be thrown away (I'll update if this happens LOL!). There are a lot of highlighters available to buy which are nicer and don't include wasting so much product. However if you want a nice base for foundation and don't have dry flakey patches then I'd recommend it to you as a good priced product that goes a long way.

Summary: Worth getting if you don't suffer from nasty dry skin
