I really wanted a spot treatment that would actually work instead of hyping up to massive claims and miserably failing! I was in Boots one day when I noticed this behind the pharmacist counter, going out that evening and having a few spots I decided to try it, I bought the Freederm gel in the 25g tube. Proof that life is unfair, I appear to be Benjamin Buttoning - I had clear blemish free skin as a teenager and then when I hit 26 it all changed. I suffered from breakouts to rival any acne ridden thirteen year old and although its calmed a lot since then, when I get them oh boy do I get them! The problem with spots for me is that there are many products to dry out your spots but they dry out your skin at the same time. Now I know for the majority of us, at one point of another in our lives we have been plagued by those little blighters we call spots - and usually no matter how hard you try they won't disappear! Having suffered from acne since my early teens (still do and im nearly 22) I tried everything from clearisal (sic) to doctor prescribed medicines which just didn't seem to work, infact they dried my skin out and made it appear worse. I have always had bad skin and would have thought I would have passed the teenage bad skin phase years ago, but unfortunately I haven't. I've been using Clean and Clear toning lotion for years as that seems to keep my skin ok, and I find products such as Clearasil too harsh and they can make my face seem red and rashed looking.
