Advantages: Quite refreshing

Disadvantages: Expensive. Not as good as the ads.

Garnier Eye Roll-On is a premium eye-care product in a revolutionary package: It has only been available for the last year or two, and has been heavily advertised so I thought I would give it a try.

It normally sells for around £9.00 to £10.00 which is a little bit too steep for me, so I bought mine when it was on offer in Tesco and it only cost around £4.00, which I think is about right.

You get 15 ml of product which doesn't seem very much but it does last ages: Each application spreads the product really thinly around the eye area, so a little goes a long way.

This is an update on the old traditional eye gels: It is a thick , milky, translucent liquid which contains Pro-Vitamin B5 and Caffeine, to improve the area around the eye and to make you feel more 'awake' apparently, according to the blurb.

There is a little screw-off cap on the end, inside here is the delivery system: It has a stainless steel roller ball, (and it reminds me slightly of those 1970's lipglosses that would taste of sickly strawberrry. )

However, this does not taste or smell of anything, and you use the roller ball to roll the product around: Either under eye area, or eyelids, wherever you feel the need really.

The idea is that it is supposed to 'wake up ' the area, and it certainly does this: I can feel a slight 'tightening' as well.

However, a lot of the 'awakening' that I can feel could be down to the fact that I keep Garnier Eye Roll-On in the fridge , so that's it's nice and cold, ready for me to put straight on first thing in the morning (I am not a morning person, and need all the help I can get!).

I think that anything cold applied around the eyes would have a tightening and anti-puffiness effect, to be honest.

Usually, I put it on then have my morning cup of tea, and by the time it's time to go upstairs and put my make-up on etc., I rinse my face again because this is not brilliant under make-up: It tends to flake a bit and foundation seems to highlight this, unfortunately.

Overall verdict: It has been worth the £4.00 I paid for it on special offer, yes, but I don't think I'll bother buying it again next time. I think I'll just use ice cubes, or maybe cold teabags :)

Summary: Nice but not necessary

This is very useful to me thanks! I have been thinking about trying this but I do not want a product that I have to wash off before putting on makeup so thanks for stopping me from wasting my money!
