Advantages: moisturises, tones, firms skin, non-greasy, lovely fresh citrus fragrance
Disadvantages: A tard expensive if you are to use regularly and on most of the body
I started using 'Garnier Bodytonic Firming Lotion' when I was going to the gym last year. I would use it after a shower following a work out and steam in the sauna to finish off the gym sessions.
Garnier Bodytonic Firming Lotion comes in a bright yellow opaque bottle with a white flip-top cover.
The front of the bottle has the 'Garnier Skin Naturals' logo displayed at the top with a small section of a green leaf displayed and these are what stands out most when you see it on the shelf.
Below the logo are the words 'bodytonic' in large orange font; then 'Firming lotion', 'Moisturises and tones' in black and 'with fruit essences' in orange.
Below that are a couple of bulletin points indicating what the product does:
'Visibly firmer skin from 7 days'
'Instantly absorbed'
It has also been '[dermatologically tested]' and this is displayed on the front of the package.
Quite a bit of information to have on the front of the bottle but it summarises the product well and gives you the information you need to make a buying decision.
The colour of the package and the front of the package give the product a fresh feeling when you first see it and it is quite appealing to the eye in my opinion.
'Garnier Bodytonic Firming Lotion' retails for around £4.50 - £5 for the 400ml bottle.
The product itself is a white opaque liquid with a smooth consistency that is easy to pour.
It has a sweet fruity zesty clean scent that is very notice-able on opening the jar.
The product contains ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Alcohol denat, Mineral Oil, Kiwi Fruit Water, Apple fruit water, Grapefruit water, fragrance, citrus grandis, citral, citronellol, limonene, linalool and others... (You can find a full list of ingredients on the back of the jar).
The main ingredients in the 'bodytonic' range are 'Citrus extract and stimulating Caffeine'. In this firming lotion, the citrus extract consists of a unique blend of fruit essences from the grapefruit, kiwi and apple fruits.
The product package claims the product is 'Designed as a revitalising cocktail for your skin, it keeps skin moisturised all day long, with a firming action every time you use it. It has uplifting citrus fragrance and its non-freasy gel-creme texture has an immediate tonign effect. Tests prove, from just seven days, skin appears transformed: visibly firmer, noticeably more supple'
So does it? I'd say 'yes it does...' I used this in combination with the cellulite rollerball in the same range for the stubborn areas and I could feel a difference.
It also leaves the skin smooth and soft (smoothing properties are from the fruit extracts) and feels very clean and refreshed with no grease left behind after application, the scent lingers on the skin long after application too..
I use it mostly while I am working out and that's when I feel the difference more. I'd recommend..
