Advantages: Very good value, does a great job, and cheap
Disadvantages: Non really, other than very pink packaging perhaps?? Just a personal thing!
My skin, its very very delicate fair skin. Its not sensitive, its delicate. It likes what it likes. It gets dry, but I wouldn'd say I suffer from dry skin, as its easily resolved with a reasonable moisturiser. I keep out of the sun and always use a sunscreen, but prefer not to use a combo product, not altogether sure as to why.
My financial situation, I used to earn very well, and had a fantastic disposable income, and my husband and I lived it up!!! Now I have 2 kids and haven't returned to work, so I have become miss frugal pants and try not to waste money. I have my standards though!!!! I used to be very faithfull to Dermalogica products, but at £48.00 a pop for a tube, this has gone by the way side long since!
So, keeping my skin scrummy, without having to save my pennies and eat beans every day for 3 weeks to afford moisturiser.....I went to the Supermarche.....happened to be Sainsbury's. It was after my occational weekend job, so no kids in tow, so I got to look at all the products. Vnfortunatly, Sainsbury's put lots of creams and potions in plastic security box devices, not ideal for beauty treatments, and certainly not how I have shopped for products in the past. So I was totally reliant on what the seller had to say.......hmmmmm......
Looked at many, but was drawn to Garnier. Largly because it was half price, and also as it was a large established company, and I figure the reasearch budget would be big, thus providing consumers with a well thought out product. I am not into pentapeptides. Q10 or any other massivley chemical and sometimes deadly ingredient, mainly because I have no idea what they are, and they scare the living daylights out of me.
So I settled on Garnier Skin Naturals Soft...on the back it says 24 hour Day Cream. It was hald price and cost my £3.85 ish. Bargain!!!
The jar is a screw top tub...not my fave as you have to stick fingers in it, as promotes bacteria transfer etc....but I have to cut my cloth accordingly I guess. Glass pink jar, with a white plastic lid. 50ml, so not huge. It has weight to it, and feels like a nice quality container.
The cream is pure white, and very glossy. it has a thick consistacy to look at, bvt spreads very very well. A tiny amount goes a long way. It is very very hoghly fragrenced. I can only discribe the scent as clean and strong, not like a plant or a fruit or anything I can put my fingure on. I am not the best at discribing smells, unless it say 'cherry body butter' or something, hence you won't see any perfume reviews from me!!!!
I wash my face generally with Dove soap, so always have a tight feeling after washing in the morning prior to applying make-up. But a very small smount of the cream worked a treat. It sunk into my skin very easily, but gave excellent coverage. Not overly greasy although very very rich in moisture. I applied make-up almost immediatly, and it didnl't interfere with it's application in any way.
So, needless to say I am very pleased with what I thought was a cheapo budget item. I'm just annoyed that I spent hundred over the years on premier beauty products without really needing to!!
Summary: A good cheap moisturiser that delivers
