Advantages: Good moisturiser with SPF
Disadvantages: Won't stop the wrinkles particularly
A couple of years ago Boots No7 changed the formula of their moisturiser and I suddenly started to develop itchy red patches down the sides of my nose. Due to this allergic reaction, I began looking for an alternative moisturiser which would suit my skin type. I hasten to add that my skin isn't particularly that sensitive. I can get away with using most brands as long as I avoid the particularly strongly fragranced products.
I happenned to chance upon a free sample of Ultra Lift Day Cream in a magazine (back in the day when companies still gave things away!), and from the moment I opened the satchet loved the delicate smell and light texture.
The main benefit of this cream for me is that it has SPF 15, which is something that my foundation (Max Factor Adapt) doesn't have. It comes in a small glass pot with a plastic screw lid. The cream itself is white and is swirled up to the top of the pot.
The texture of the cream is quite light, as it is a day cream and a small amount on your finger, and then dotted around your face should cover the skin pretty well. Consequently the cream does last quite a long time. The cream smells pleasant but is not highly perfumed, more of a clean fresh smell.
The aim of the product is to work as an Anti Wrinkle cream by hydrating the skin along with the ginger extract tightening and lifting it. To a certain extend this does work. I am 34 and I would say I am experiencing the first signs of ageing in that my skin can look quite dull, and I have noticed that my skin is not as taught on my forehead as it used to be. Using this cream does make my skin temporarily look fresher and slightly tighter but it is certainly not a premium anti wrinkle product. I have quite a deep frown line on my forehead which was not there when I started using this cream (5 years ago) and it does nothing to hide it, nor did it stop it from appearing in the first place.
I would therefore recommend this product to anyone in their twenties or early thirties, looking for a decent moisturiser with SPF that does give you a fresher look when you use it. For its RRP of £7.86, I don't think that you can expect much more from it.
Summary: Good as a moisturiser - just don't expect too much
