~~~~Gillette Fusion Hydra Gel~~~~
Modern man
I like to pamper myself, and like to try new products particular in the facials department. When I saw the Fusion range from Gillette I was immediately hooked and had to give it a go...
I've tried the Fusion Razors which are impressive, not being a foam type of guy I thought that I would give the Shaving Gel a try. Packaged in a metallic orange tin it is immediately eye-catching as you trolley down the supermarket aisle. Equally eye-catching is the price, at £3.99 for 200ml it was 4 times more expensive than my normal supermarket brand.
Happily I notice that it is available at Boots as I write this review for £1.99.
Luxuriant
The blue gel eases from the spout as you depress the dispenser, immediately you notice the thick luxuriant texture and smoothness as you palm the dollop between your hands.
Mmmm... that smells nice! The aloe really does the trick, smelling fresh and rich without being over-powering.
Quickly working into a lather, beware you don\'t need much, it covers the area to be shaved smoothly and feels good. The thickness clearly helps the razor to glide over the contours of my face allowing the shave to feel close and effortless.
Examining the tin I notice that the gel also contains vitamin E a natural antioxidant which helps to prevent tissue breakdown. You may also be interested to know that aloe contains skin healing properties and is used in the treatment of burns.
The shave complete my skin has survived without the usual red rash on my neck and I'm free from cuts. The aroma remains but the over riding feeling is that my skin feels fresh and clean.
Conclusion
This is a good product and complement's the fusion range, the quality is a rung above your supermarket brands. Naturally much of your experience will be determined by the quality of you razor, but I like this gel alot.
Ultimately you'' need to consider the price at £3.99 I think that you will be hard pressed to justify the extra but if you can find it at the £2 mark then my advice is Go for it!
Summary: Lovely if you can afford it, but RRP of 3.99 is just too much to pay?
