I have been using the gillette fusion power razor for about 2 years now. and i must admit i love it. my personal opinion is that it is the best in the market. As i guess everyone knows, it has 5 blades on front for closer shave and one on the back of the blade cartridge for precision shaving.

Apparently it also has some sort of lubrication built in the blades (a greenish strip at the top of the blade cartridge). i havent found this particularly useful.

the razor and in particular are prizey though. a pack of 8 power blades would cost you about £18-£25 depending on where you buy it. What i do is i use power razor (with built in battery) but use manual blades (which are cheaper). I havent seen much difference (if any) between power and manual blades. Apparently power blades have enhanced lubrication. Usually amazon has them at quite competitive prices and every now and then they do have some promotional offers. I always stock up when they are cheap or on offers. I admit they are pricey but they last a good time as well. A pack of 8 blades lasts about 6 months for me. So even at £20 its quite good value. Be ware of fakes though. There are so many fakes out there and there is no obvious way of detecting fakes (i.e. until you buy fakes and it rips your skin off). So buy from reputable dealers only.

Gillette is no doubt no 1 in the razor market but i think some of it is also down to lack of good quality competitiors and poor advertizing from the competitors. But that said, gilllette fusion is an excellent shaver. so all in all a very prizey razor that does its job quite well.

Summary: Many people may not like the razor (mainly due to price) but i cant do without one.
