Advantages: works better then any other razor i have used.

Disadvantages: Is more expensive then non name brands.

You know at the end of the day why is it that men get the coolest looking razors complete with as many blades as can possibly fit on a one cm surface, while we women just get the Venus, with a good for nothing gel pad?!
After all I can safely say that on average we women shave allot more surface area then men.

But I didn't realize how sorely we had been deprived until the day I ran out of my Venus blades and had to nick my partners razor.

Now my partner is the proud owner of at least seven different models of razors and uses them like a connoisseur would pick a different wine depending on the meal and occasion. After examining the Machs , Wilkinsens and Fusion with the vibrating handle I decided on the Gillette Fusion without the vibrator simply because I thought it seemed rather silly.

This model has five blades and a sixth blade on the back, which is designed for trimming a line. The design is done in blue, orange and silver and looks very much like a mans razor. There is a strip on the top of the blades of gel, which runs out pretty quickly, but doesn't make much of a difference in your shave, if you use shaving foam.

I took it into the shower with me as I do pretty much all my shaving in there under the water as it saves time.

I had put on a new blade and the sharpness was to say the least very unexpected. My Venus blades when brand new were never that sharp and so at first I got a few nicks just because I was unused to a razor of this caliber.
But once I got the hang of it, it worked like a dream, it was the best and closest shave that I had ever had, and I just had to have it for my own.

At full price though this razor packs a hefty price tag, for just the arm you can expect to pay between 5 - 8 pounds depending on whether you want the manual, power or stealth power model. The manual one works great for me and is also the most economical. The blades however, for the manual fusion razor, are expensive at 12 - 15 pounds for 8. But you are still saving as the power models blades cost 16 - 18 pounds.

This is quite a lot of money to spend for a shave, but I have found that an 8 pack lasts me over 6 months as my hair is very fine and I guess doesn't wear down the razor, so I have found it to be good value.

I am giving this razor five stars as it delivers the best service I have come across so far and since the blades last me so long is cost efficient for me.

Summary: I believe that you get what you pay for and this razor delivers a nice close shave.

It's interesting to see how this works for the ladies, but not entirely useful. How do you find this on your facial hair? Does it keep your beard under control? :)
