Following on nicely from my razor blade of choice in my last opinion this is my current shaving foam, in the Gillette series Pacific Light fragrance.

Basically this is the gel that you use on your face before shaving. It helps on the face to make a better cut with less pain for yourself. I was not too picky about what sorts of shaving foam I used at first. Gillette are famous for their range of bathroom and shaving products, and I use a Gillette razor blade so I also decided to use their own brand foam. It comes in a variety of fragrances, all as good as each other in my opinion but this is on the Pacific Light version.

The shaving foam comes in a gel form that is squirted out of the aerosol can. This gel then is rubbed onto your face forming a nice foam finish. I have found that the Gillette shaving series make a very good finish, very firm and lots of it. This foam is supposed to come with all sorts of skin moisturisers and is safe for extra sensitive skin. I have never had any problems with this product, so I guess that proves it for me. Not sure exactly how much extra all the lubrication and moisturisers are helpful.

The gel comes in 200ml size, which is equivalent to 195 grams. The price for this is about £2.20, though varies depending where you buy it. It is more expensive than some other brands for shave foam, but like other Gillette product I think it is worth paying a little extra for quality. The foam lasts long enough, though exactly how long depends on how often you need to shave. It lasts me for several weeks and is good value. The container is a very nice silver and light blue pressurised container. It looks very nice, the blue effect suits the product. It comes with a push dispenser on top with a lid for storage. It is easy to work, though I have had some that break off in time.

The main ingredient in this is aqua, more commonly known as water.

Full list –

Aqua (water), Palmitic Acid, O
leth-20, Triethanolamine, Isopentane, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Glycereth-26, Lauramide Dea, Isobutane, Parafum, Aloe Barbadensis, Hydroxyethylcelluose, Peg-150 Disterate, Peg-14M,

Not too sure about an acid then coming next, though there is nothing damaging in here. A small percentage of the contents used are flammable, and it is suggested to keep out of small children’s reach.

The smell of this is very nice. It is not too overpowering at all, though is nice and fresh. I find it hard to describe these sorts of fragrances, but it is a nice smell. The whole range have equally nice smells and have the same properties so is down to personal choice. I like this one though they are all good. Pacific light is also available as a deodorant and an aftershave fragrance. It claims that best results to use with Gillette’s own brand razors, not too sure how much of an influence this is.

Overall a very good shaving foam. Although a bit pricier for the brand name I would still come back and buy this for the extra. Great quality and are all nice fragrances, great buy.

No that I've had much experience [well, none at all really] when it comes to this kinda stuff, but my Dad uses it and if 'Victor Meldrew' likes it ..... it must be ok!
